Dr. Robert Elliot Berg, MD

The doctor was not prompt or did not make the effort to explain me the problem or the underlying issues of my condition. I had to ask a thousand questions to get the full picture. Dr. Berg also falsely claimed that there were no side effects to taking the medication he had prescribed which was far from truth. Besides this, he did not send the prescription to the pharmacy for a week post visit which caused insane anxiety and health problems since I had to be on medication to treat my symptoms. I wouldn’t visit him again.

One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a doctor’s office. While the doctor himself is kind and patient, the staff representing his practice is extremely unprofessional and lacks basic empathy. I specifically sought out this office through my insurance because I need care for a high-risk pregnancy. Due to my age and multiple fibroids over 6 cm, I’ve been dealing with constant pain and discomfort and made the difficult decision to take time off work to prioritize my health and my baby. Unfortunately, getting simple medical paperwork completed has been an exhausting and stressful process. I called multiple times and sent several emails over the course of weeks, only to be ignored or dismissed. This delay has directly impacted me financially, as I have not been paid due to the office’s failure to provide required documentation. A staff member named Vilma (or Wilma) was particularly concerning. Despite not being involved in my care or familiar with my case, she made inappropriate… and dismissive comments, including stating that “pregnancy is not a disability.” That kind of statement is not only inaccurate but deeply insensitive—especially coming from someone working in a medical office that treats pregnant patients. Who also has no prior knowledge to my situation nor did she examine me. At no point did I feel supported or taken seriously. Instead, I was met with resistance, lack of communication, and an overall disregard for the urgency of my situation. I would not recommend this office to anyone, especially those dealing with high-risk pregnancies or requiring timely medical documentation. Patients in vulnerable situations deserve compassion, responsiveness, and professionalism—none of which I experienced here. Hopefully this can help someone else and they won't have to experience what I've experienced.

Rude, unkind, inefficient, unprofessional staff. MD always runs late. Shocked to have experienced THIS level of service from staff in 2024. It took me 10 weeks to get my procedure approved with my insurance company, because the surgical coordinator kept forgetting to call them. Once the call was made, clearance was given 28 minutes later. Obtaining information from the admin staff is akin to pulling teeth. They speak with disdain and rudeness to patients. Last straw was when I had a 10am appt (first of the day) and at 11am Dr. Berg still wasn't in, I asked when they expected him. They just laughed at me and said that he always runs late and I should just wait. Zero empathy for me or respect for my time. MD is abrasive but gets the job done (that's the one star).

The worst doctor on the planet!!! Please don't go to him. I had a horrible experience during and after the pregnancy. He botched the pregnancy by giving me a staphylococcus infection which nearly took my life and cutting various organs which required additional stay at the hospital and many operations. The pregnancy itself was perfect, I didnt have any issues or problems to tend to. Not one. But during the last week of the pregnancy this pathetic excuse of a doctor advised me to lie to the hospital that my baby didn't have a heartbeat just so I can get admitted early for him to deliver the baby out of concern that the baby would be in there too long. I'm seriously lucky to be alive. PLEASE JUST FIND YOURSELF A DOCTOR ...This is your warning!! good luck if you stay with him, I hope God is with you. God is definitely with this inhumane thing that calls himself a doctor. Oh and if something does go wrong don't try to sue him because he is the ceo of a company called New York Medical… Consultants, which get this, who help get clients witnesses in medical lawsuits ...talk about a conflict of interest.. Look him up on LinkedIn. There's nothing I'm hiding .. .This guy really should have his medical license revoked from all the bad stuff I heard after our experience feom the nurses at NYU. From the moment I walked in the receptionist were attentive and kind, my wait was short and the medical assistant that took my blood pressure and got me settled was efficient and communicative. Dr. Berg was straightforward, knowledgeable and gave me all the facts I needed. He was able to refer me to an MRI and get me on calendar for next steps based on my request. Overall, it was a good experience that made me leave feeling comfortable with the next steps and more informed about the options my decision. Dr. Berg was professional and took time to listen and answer my questions.

Very communicative very efficient takes time to examine & when done he lets you know that everything is ok or results in couple of days

I went to Dr. Berg seeking sterilization via bilateral salpingectomy. I had been to a few doctors in the past since it is common for many to refuse to do a procedure like this. I was pleasantly surprised that he approved me for surgery without any condescending comments about my choice. His bedside manner could use some work. He often proceeds with physical examinations without checking in with the patient. I attribute this to his to-the-point attitude rather than rudeness, but he should still take some extra measures to make sure the patient is comfortable; especially as an OBGYN with patients in such vulnerable positions. In any case, he performed the surgery and I have so far encountered zero complications. He is a sweet and understanding man, just be warned of his manhandling tendencies.

Berg has done thousands of abortions and sells baby tissue and organs on the side. Stay away. Unethical and may recommend a late term abortion for “safety” reasons so baby organs are more developed resulting in the ability to utilize and sell more parts.

Would you want a doctor who says “his patients” know better than to dare to have up birth plans? Or describes birth as a disgusting mess? Or has no appreciation that birth for some women is more than a medical procedure? Retro, patronizing and awful.

The front desk was very unprofessional and rude. When I told them that they have no reason to be rude, I was told that "Dr. Berg wants his office run this way." I left without seeing a doctor; I hope this review saves you time, money and aggravation.
