Dr. Robert Stephen Improta, MD

I had my reduction in 1992. I was 15 yrs old. He took me from a size 32 triple I/J...9 sized down to DD. Removed my nipples in a key hole procedure. My feeling came back within 5yrs and they look still look great 30yrs later. Hes the best!! Just know one thing if you were my size so young and have my procedure do not try and breast feed ever. You will starve your baby. I learned the had way because nurses and doctors do not listen.

I saw Dr. Improta for my initial consultation and loved him and his warm staff from the start. I had no idea what to expect but as a health care provider myself I was quite pleased with the promptness of my appointment, cleanliness of the office, knowledge of the staff and of course the gentle kindness of Dr. Improta himself. I scheduled my surgery and made financial arrangements the same day. It was the first plastic consult I had ever had. Thinking surely I must have another, I saw another Dr. This was good and bad...bad in the fact that when I asked the gum-chewer in the front office if they had before and after photos she blankly looked at me and told me, "You haven't had your surgery yet." Then, a nurse brought me back for a series of questions before I even saw the Dr. He told me that he could not help me and no one in Ventura county could help me and to seek surgery at a specialist in Newport Beach. Of course I was shocked and left in tears. The good, was that at least… he told me he couldn't perform my surgery and didn't try.I immediately called Dr. Improta's office and told them of my experience. They promised to have him call me which he did that evening. We spoke for about 30 minutes. He had told me that my surgery was going to be difficult and promised me a good job but with the knowledge that I was a difficult case. He also told me to seek the advice of the surgeons in Newport for my own piece of mind. He told me that he had seen both Dr.'s work and their re-dos but that the decision was ultimately mine. He didn't try to persuade me in anyway but was very informative and spoke to me on a personal and professional level.I made the appointment to see the Newport Dr. and cancelled it before I went. I had spoken to several women who had either seen Dr. Improta themselves or knew someone who had. They all had nothing but great things to say. I knew in my heart (and it is such an emotional gut feeling) that he would do my surgery.My surgery went super. My recovery was great and their entire staff treated me like family. He was right, my case was difficult but all went well. I couldn't be happier. It was the best experience and I just love the man! I get compliments all the time but only when I tell people I had surgery. It's so good that no one even knows.I recommend him without hesitation and referred 2 friends who by scheduling alone, had their surgeries before me. They loved him and his work as well. He is a wonderful man and an excellent Dr.

My only comment would be to make sure you write down your questions so you can get them anwered during your consultation, and let the dr. know if he hasn't answered all your questions
