Dr. Robert Martin, MD

Was given Dr Martin as a referral Doctor during a stay at Advent Health. Personal impression was initially good. However, I was supposed to get a followup within 2 weeks....I have called his office twice, initially in severe pain, and although 3 days have passed, no one has called me back. I even made a second call after waiting a day. Still no results.

Caring, listens to what you say, one of the best neurosurgeons in this area. Not only my surgery but several people I know have used him with great outcomes.

I was a patient of Dr. Martin back in 1994 when I had a laminectomy, then a spinal cord injury and then a fusion......c3-c7. He saw me through that rough year and with great success, while he was here in Syracuse, NY. I have often talked of his involvement with my success. Doctors that I see now have commented on how well the surgery looks that he did on my neck.

I saw Dr. Martin after I was diagnose with Arnold Chiari Malformation and Syringomeylia. Both requiring me to have to have a crainectomy and a shunt placed in my spinal cord. He was very professional and explained how serious my condition was and what my possible prognosis will be after surgery. He was always willing to answer all of my questions and I never felt as if he was in a rush during my office visits or when he came to see me in the hospital. Because of him, I am no longer having chronic pain and numbness, tingling, and weakness in my extremities. I would say that I am 95% recovered. I'm happy with that result coming from the place where I was at before the procedures. He even saw me in his office at a discounted rate after I lost my insurance. 100% I will recommend him.

I suffered a compression disc fracture, exacerbating other pre-existing complex spinal issues. I was referred to Dr. Martin by the ER doctors. He is kind, patient and compassionate. While remaining under his primary care, he referred me to other specialists to insure that I was provided all possible treatment options available for my particular condition. His staff members are helpful, articulate and caring. I would recommend Dr. Martin to anyone in need of his medical specialty.

I was in so much pain and in a wheelchair. Resigned to a pretty messed up existence not getting ANY pain relief when my Ortho Dr. had me see Dr.Martin who found a tumor in my spinal cord that 12 other MRI radiologist MISSED. Thanks to Dr. Martin his gentle hands and procedures in the OR my life is mine again. I can honestly say my pain level is 0-1. I had to move to Seattle, Wa. and would travel back to Ormond just so he could operate. By the way I can walk!!
