Dr. Schmitz really listened to my concerns and family history. He answered all my questions and made me feel at ease before the procedure. I'm glad he is part of my health team.

Dr. Schmitz discovered my colon cancer during my colonoscopy back in 2014. He has done additional colonoscopies since. He is very professional, courteous, and personable. His staff is the same way. I highly recommend Dr. Schmitz for your gastroenteric procedures.

I am four days out from my colonoscopy and, without getting into personal details, I'm having issues I am concerned about and need guidance from a nurse or doctor. I left a voicemail for an assistant. I did get a callback and she left a voicemail as I was on another call. In her message, she explained that she wanted to get more info to give to the doctor. I then emailed my doctor directly, through MyChart, at 9:23 AM. I figured I could go ahead and not bother the assistant, and get the info to the doctor myself. I had not received a response by midday and thought I should call the assistant again. I left a voicemail. I got a callback at 4:30ish. The office closes at 5. I got a call from the assistant to get more info about my symptoms. I explained them as I had in the email. Since it was close to five, I asked when someone will get back to me. She asked me to keep an eye out for a message through MyChart from a doctor. It's now 15 minutes to 7 PM. The symptoms I have make me… trepidatious to eat and sleep. I called the 24-hour nurse line through my insurance to see if I could get guidance there. The nurse gave me some ideas to try. The fact that I can't get a person from the practice to just give me a quick call or email is unacceptable. The staff was friendly when I went in, but clearly in a hurry to start the holiday weekend. I'm disappointed in the experience.
