Dr. Robert Ray Jacobsen, MD

Jacobsen was my mother's lifetime PCP and mine until 2021 (I have switched to a competent doctor since). In my his care he: 1) Inserted his personal opinion about my healthcare and told me that if he would "get an IUD" if he could. 2) Threw medication at me, after taking *one* mental health evaluation at 18 and then being diagnosed by him that I had Bipolar 1&2 (I have NO history of either diagnosis and had been working with a therapist for 2+ years at that point with no diagnosis of Bipolar I or II). He prescribed me a mood stabilizer, instead of REFERRING me out to a psychiatrist. He wasn't educated on the side effects, or didn't communicate them to me. When I started sharing the effects with my therapist she shared medical knowledge with me and upon more knowledge I chose to stop because of the adverse reactions I had and didn't expect. 3) In Dec 2020 I came to him with a concern over pelvic pain, and he diagnosed me as having "Myrtle schmurtz" (cramping that happens before… menstruation), when I told him it was different from cramping and that because of how painful+constant it was I wanted an ultrasound or at least to see a GYN he told me "there's no need, you're not 21 yet" and that it "wasn't necessary". Now circling back to my current PCP, when I shared with her some new issues happening with the same thing she IMMEDIATELY treated me with respect and dignity and GOT ME AN ULTRASOUND, and from there I have since found out that I probably *needed* to be taken seriously when I was under the care of Dr. Jacobsen as it was two years ago. I believe the progression of my pain and the increase of my condition is the fault of him, as it could have been detected much earlier. He is a neglectful doctor, he is an incompetent health care provider.

Dr. Jacobsen has been my personal physician for many years, and I've been extremely happy with his service. He's a great doc who's easy to schedule with, and pleasant to visit. He's guided me well through all of the health issues I've taken to him.

When my son's mother decided to use Dr Jacobsen she was mid development of a pill addiction. Dr Jacobsen provider her with Vicodin as well as klonopin with no justifiable reason in doing so. He touched her breasts and nipples as part of an exam with the reasoning that he wanted to see her lactation response. He said and did other inappropriate things during exams as well. It seemed he was providing her with pharmaceuticals in exchange for groping. Surprised he hasn't been called out on this by others and still has his medical liscence

For two years my father was complaining of a persistent cough. Dr. Jacobsen just threw antibiotics at him. My parents finally asked for a second opinion, and he seemed surprised they would want one. An ENT took a chest x-ray (wow what a concept), and my father has lung cancer. He is getting a head MRI as I type this. If the cancer has spread, we can thank Dr. Jacobsen for that.

Our family has been seeing Dr. Jacobsen since he moved into our community approximately 15 years ago. Our children, now adults, have continued in his care. He has been a great PCP and his manner is gentle at all times. He takes the time to listen to our concerns, and never feel rushed when we have questions. We look upon him as a good friend and highly recommend Dr. J.

The office area is too open and does not afford much, if any, privacy.

I found Dr Jacobsen about 10 years ago while I was recovering from a near fatal car Accident. He is everything you can hope for in the way he respects and treats you Professionally Medically, Psychologically, emotionally and Financially. He is one Fantastic Doctor! Consider that, I also have a brother in-law who is also a Doctor.

Failed to correctly code my insurance claim. Used a code for a diagnosis that was not performed. Failed to use the correct coding for routine physical. Result was health insurance claim was denied. Health insurance provider recommended I contact Dr. Jacobsen to re-code claim correctly and re-submit. Dr. Jacobsen has ignored my repeated attempts to contact him to resolve the issue. I'm on the hook for his bill which should have been covered by my insurance.
