Dr. Robert Nadler

9 Malpractice lawsuits in Cook County says it all. Cannot Recommend.

Dr. Nadler participated in a complex, multi-surgeon, multi-organ surgery on my mother. He went above and beyond making himself available multiple times to ensure my mother received the best care. He spoke with myself and family and answered all our questions. Dr. Nadler’s communication style is very succinct and direct. I thank him for all his efforts and care.

My daughter was treated by Dr. Nadler for kidney stones. After not receiving the results of an expensive CT scan, we filed for the record through medical records. The CT showed kidney stones and a procedure to remove them was done. He appeared the morning of the procedure in a foul mood. No anti-inflammatory, antibiotics or pain meds were prescribed after the procedure. When pain set in, I contacted staff. No response. Finally obtained help at the ER. The only time staff did a followup was after cancelling the followup visit. Then they took the time to post on my kid's file that "she went elsewhere." As I write, my daughter's kidney was removed at another facility due to injury and infection from Nadler's procedure. If you're a female reading this review, find a surgeon who will respect you and has the skills and interest to work with women. This surgeon is interested in treating men.

I was admitted through the ER for stent placement. I never saw Dr Nadler and once procedure was done, he phoned my husband. When I was discharged from the hospital, I left without prescriptions for pain control or UTI prevention. I had to ask my PCP for pain meds. His scheduling nurse avoided our phone calls to schedule follow up and never returned any calls. She informed my husband today that my insurance is out of network, so for Dr Nadler to remove my stent, we would need to pay cash up front. Dr Nadler seems knowledgeable, but his nurse (Tracy) is definitely lacking in kindness and quality patient care. Very rude towards my husband. She made sure to tell my husband that she was working from home cause she is sick. Being sick does not mean you can treat people unkindly. Will not be going back. I did find another urologist willing to see me to discuss removal of the stent. Definitely will not recommend Springfield Clinic to anyone!

He has a terrible bedside manner. He invited his medical students into watch an intimate procedure without asking my permission. He was not concerned about my pain. He failed to come down after surgery to speak with me and I needed an emergency catheter which the nurse had to perform based on her own call because he wouldn’t answer her calls. I hate this guy.

It's been a few years now, but Dr Nadler is the surgeon who saved me from kidney cancer. I'd been to see several doctors while I was "shopping around" for surgeons. (something EVERYONE who needs surgery should absolutely do) I was carrying around my CT scan film. One doc at Masonic based his entire assessment looking at my scans through the fluorescent lights in his office. When I got to Dr Nadler, he took a quick look at them, and told me they were no good - that I'd need an MRI for a cleaner image. As it turns out...he was right. Dr. Nadler is not someone who's going to sit around and chat with you. He gets right to the point, and is very thorough, but doesn't waste a second of time. Although, when I was in recovery, he dropped in to check on me. Everything had gone extremely well, and I commented to my wife that it was the first time I'd ever seen him smile.

Urologists dont need to be good in the exam room, they need to be great in the operating room. Dr. Nadler is one of those people who doesn't chit chat much (he's extremely busy), but he saved my kidney and 12 years later I'm still doing great. That is what it's about and I would recommend him highly for that.

Clarity of explanation in discussing my diagnosis and in the reasons for recommending the surgery he recommended. He, his nurse, and team expressed a high level of professionalism and care. That was particularly evident when I had a minor setback. (in fact Dr. Nadler himself responded to an emergency call, and then clearly was directing the response of his team to my treatment.) I would recommend him most highly.
