Dr. Robert Benjamin Saldana, DO

This guy just had a softball interview on Newsy. Why did not the Newsy reporter ask how many of the COVID patients are illegal aliens....why. No vaccine mandate for illegals right. This is a 2.5 star Doc. Give me a break.

Received excellent service from doctor. Has taken the time to explain results of all test. Very professional and kind.

I think he's just a rude dr. Never will return. Save your time and money. Useless

Over the last 8 years I have had to go to the emergency room at Kirby many times. First rate facilities. When Dr. Saldana is on duty; I feel secure that all will be well for me.

Went to Methodist because usually it's a great hospital...Well they had Dr. Saldana handling the patients.. It was so horrible I will never return to Methodist due to possibly having to deal with this specific Dr. He fought with several patients in the waiting room (due to nothing being wrong with them).I was in a bed in the hallway for 6 hours before he even spoke to me (with a gentleman screaming from being hit by a car and a elderly lady begging for pain meds due to her foot twisted in a horrific angle due to falling in the same hallway with me on beds). I was there for over 9 hours with no pain relief only two test done.He comes in and doesn't let me get any words in from him speaking over me...ONLY to tell me that my blood work and ultra sound were good and he would be discharging me for me to follow up with my regular dr if pain continues (All this in less then 2 mins and proceeds to walk out my room). I tried to explain to him that these test had been done 2 weeks ago and the… pain is only getting worse. He then says he will send me home and prescribe me pain meds. I told him I need to know what was causing the pain to please run a ct scan. He then...says the most idiotic thing I ever heard a dr say..."finding out what is causing the pain is not going to make the pain go away" (while smiling mind you..). I didn't go to the hospital for a band-aid...I went to find out what is causing me so..much pain! He finally decides to run a ct scan and came back a hour later to inform me that my intestines are inflamed on the left side (where pain was) and I need antibiotics. Worst DOCTOR EVER! Feel so sorry for the people who have to deal with him in the future and for Methodist to lose reputation due to this horrible Dr who should not even be considered a dr.

I wrote a letter to the Methodist Hospital regarding an excessive and overly inflated bill that was charged to me after a 45 minutes visit with a doctor!! The bill was close to the amount of 3,000.00. Dr. Robert B. Saldana returned my call, he was extremely rude, ruthless and uncaring about this over inflated charge, claiming it to be justified, although he could never outline or explain what the charges were for and why it was charged! When I tried to question him, He continued to over talk me and use sophisticated "Doctors Language" to justify himself by talking about NONE THING!! He simply continued to over talk me and would not allow me to get in a word. This guy is the worst type of human being you would ever want to deal with! He absolutely HORRIBLE! Not only will I never visit the Houston Methodist Hospital again, I would never recommend Dr. Saldana to any self-respecting patient.

Extremely uncaring and rude. For the amount of money this visit will cost, not worth it.

I saw Dr. Saldana at the Methodist ER on Kirby. I was having an adrenal crisis, which unfortunately happens to me ever so often because of an endocrine issue. I usually go to the ER, get blood work, get IV steroids, and, sometimes, get admitted to the hospital. I've been to this particular ER with this particular problem several times and was treated very well. On this occasion, I was very vocal about what the problem was, what we've done in the past to treat it, and who my endocrinologist was at Methodist is, so they could call for a consultation, if needed. One of the side effects of a crisis is vomiting and diarrhea. Dr. Saldana decided to do a urinalysis, which of course came back full of bacteria because of the diarrhea. He then diagnosed me with a UTI and prescribed antibiotics. Then he wanted to do an abdominal x-ray to look for an intestinal blockage which he thought was the source of the diarrhea. I refused and reiterated that I needed fluids and steroids. After… waiting for some time in the room in an empty ER, I called my endocrinologist and decided that I would use an emergency injectible I had of steroids and then just go straight to his office for treatment, since Dr. Saldana was not listening to me. Physicians who do not listen to their patients, especially when the patient knows their medical condition well, are at best annoying and at worst deadly. I expect more out of Methodist.

Dr. Saldana was ver inappropriate in all of his dealings with me. I did not expect this caliber of doctor at Methodist. He did not address any of my concerns for being the ER and hurried me out. He called security to expedite the process because he "needed a bed".
