Dr. Rod Foroozan, MD

seen dr Foroozan today, don't understand the negative comments about, he was wonderful caring and very gentil, no waiting, many test, conversation and explanation, people should check they own attitude, he was very friendly and concern, made me an appointment immediately with a specialist for biopsy, he's a 5+ star, love is cat.

This doctor has no bedside manner. That would be ok if he actually took the time to read why I was there and addressed my concerns. His technician told me I had 20/60 vision in one eye and 20/70 in the other which was worse than my previous appointment. He tested it again and after I told him I couldnt see the letters he asked me what shape it looked like. It looked like it had a point so I said triangle, he actually said then what letter would that be, he then stopped the test and told me I had 20/25 vision and 20/30. I questioned it and he blew it off. I even told him I was guessing. I couldn't read anything he was showing me. He didn't address any of my issues, said he saw nothing new from my previous appointments and said he didn't need to see me again. I cant hardly read, vision loss showing on vision field test, blurry vision, eye pain, thin optic nerve, dizziness, and having trouble driving. I guess Im fine according to him! I have had 4 visits with him and only know… I have a thin optic nerve. What a joke. I was there each visit for four hours and he spent 5 minutes with me. I still have no answers so I will have to find someone else and go through all this again.

Dr. Foroozan has zero bedside manners. After diagnosing me with an incurable brain disease, I informed him that I was moving to a new city and needed a new doctor. He told me in the office that he would put a referral in and never did. I tried for 2 WEEKS to get him to put in the referral and he passed it off to a woman named Shoba who ONLY handles incoming referrals only doctors can do outgoing. Meanwhile i'm explaining to Dr. F that my symptoms are getting worse and he doesn't seem to care. He told me to lose 10 lbs and that will fix all my problems.... for an incurable brain disease. Finally today he told his assistant to call me and tell me to just go see another doctor and have them reevaluate me and put in the referral that I want... He ACTUALLY wants me to go through an entire process of doctors AGAIN after I've already paid and gone through the process with 4 doctors! I have spent literally thousands of dollars and missed work for Dr. Foroozan to just try to tell me to go do… it all over again with other doctors because he (for whatever reason) doesn't want to put in the referral for me after I've put so much money in his pocket. Even his nurses over the phone told me they don't understand why he's acting like this and they expressed their own frustration and dissatisfaction working for him. That's definitely saying something about a doctor when his own staff doesn't like him or the way he treats his patients. Dr. Foroozan might have gotten through a particular tough training and schooling to achieve his title, but he cares nothing for his patients. He will dilate you when you don't need it and charge you for it. This man only cares about the money he makes.

How accurate are his tests? Surprised to see outdated equipment. I've seen more than one other doctor, and this doctor used outdated equipment for the visual fields test. Does he use outdated equipment for any other tests? How can he get accurate feedback from outdated equipment? He adjusted the visual fields equipment multiple times. Maybe he should simply buy some proper equipment. He got really frustrated. The other doctors I've seen use computerized tests for visual fields.

I was referred to Dr. Rod Foroozan by another ophthalmologist and by my neurologist for his expert opinion in neuro-ophthalmology. Although both of my referring physicians are highly respected specialists and experts in their fields, my condition seemed to puzzle them both. During my first visit I spent a couple of hours in Dr. Foroozanâ??s office doing extensive eye exams. At the end of my visit he gave me a very detailed explanation of my apparently extremely rare condition, and even provided a printed article with references. He spent his time dealing with my insurance company to get an expensive MRI approved and made sure I understood my condition during my follow up visit. I do not know how much time Dr. Foroozan spent on my case but what I know for sure is that his time, knowledge, dedication, compassion, and expertise are worth much more than what my insurance company paid him for 2 office visits. Many patients are totally convinced that physicians choose medicine as their… career field for money. And, without a doubt, it is true in some cases. But when you came across physicians like Dr. Foroozan, you realize that there are also physicians out there who dedicate their lives to advancing medical science, searching for cures, and finding ways to ease patientsâ?? suffering. If I were living somewhere in rural Idaho or Iowa in the middle of nowhere, or, even worse, in a country with socialized medicine, I probably would still be suffering in silence without knowing what my condition is all about. Just like many patients do who are not lucky enough to have access to many terrific physicians who practice in Houston. I wish patients were a little more appreciative of the great care they have access to living in Houston. Donâ??t worry too much about your wait time in the doctorâ??s office. What if you have a very rare condition and its treatment may require additional amount of time? Be grateful that you are lucky enough to come across a physician like Dr Foroozan who will take his time to help you.

This jerk is obviously in medicine for the money. He cares nothing about the patients! What a joke.

I've been to many doctors and had many tests done in the medical center over the last 10 years. I've never had the experience I did with Dr. Foroozan. I wasn't even there for a full exam...just one particular test. I waited over an hour before I even saw a nurse. She did my basic exam, dilated my eyes (I was told this would not be done over phone) and sent me to other side of office for a test. There I waited 20-30 minutes for a 2 minute test. I was taken back to first exam room where I waited for another hour to see the doctor. All total I was in that office for almost 4 hours for 20 min with nurse, less than 5 for test and 10 min with the doctor. It's sad that Dr. Foroozan and his staff do not value it's patients time!

I was overall very pleased with my appointment with Dr. Foroozan. He was very professional and diagnosed my problem quickly. He even joke around with me a little. I would recommend Dr. Foroozan.

The office wait was 3+ hours with only 3 other patients on the entire floor. One man fell asleep! With dialated eyes, my daughter had to just sit. After waiting close to 3 hours we just left. I told the receptionist that sitting with dialted eyes for 2 hours in unacceptable. When the dr walked in he was short, did not even introduce himself, was even rude to the medical student who took my daughters history. He barked "dialate her eyes" and the student did and then we waited for 2 hours and just left. He may be knowledgable but I want a doctor who cares and won't treat us like ants. He didn't care one bit and as I said, did not even introduce himself to us. Never have I had such a terrible visit! So sad he will bring Baylor down.
