Dr. Roderick Marcus Capelo, MD

Dr. Capelo and staff are wonderful. They worked me in quickly to have my daughter's injury treated.

We've taken our two sons to Dr. Capelo numerous times for sports injuries, which were mostly broken bones. He has always been very thorough in his exam of their injuries and the treatment for these. We first went to him a decade ago due to another orthopedic surgeon making an error in diagnosis and treatment of a broken radius bone, and putting my son in a cast with the broken bone set at a 17% angle. Dr. Capelo remedied the situation and straightened the bone in my then 5-year old's arm. Pretty amazing! We live quite a distance from his office, but If we have a sports injury to a bone or joint, we do the drive so that we know the injury is being treated correctly. Hope your kids don't have any injuries needing an ortho doctor, but if they do, I highly recommend Capelo.

We saw the PA and she was fantastic--x-rays were inconclusive--my son fractured his wrist by catching himself falling backwards. He didn't complain about his elbow (the wrist was bad) but listening carefully to him describe the fall, she brought the DOC in and they decided to cast him from thumb up to armpit, just in case. When we came in for the follow up BOTH the PA and DOC came in to see the new x-rays--which showed there was significant healing (consolidation? or fracture callouses?) in a corkscrew up the elbow. HAD THEY NOT CAST HIM THAT HIGH he could have had all kinds of issues. I am very grateful they took the time to 1) listen 2) collaborate and 3) treat aggressively -- he was all healed in four weeks.

He misdiagnosed an Osteochondroma for a Osteosarcoma and missed an Osteochondral Lesion. I would find another doctor or definitely get a second opinion.

We have seen Dr Capelo several times now, with different injuries for my daughter. Each time he was very thorough and compassionate about her care! I would recommend him and his staff to anyone with a child needing an orthopedic physician!

We had a wonderful experience. He was very conscious of my daughters needs. He pays attention to detail. We saw him 1 week and at the beginning of the next week my daughter was having surgery. Bed side manners are outstanding!

Dr. Capelo is one of the best doctors I have ever seen!He treated my young daughter, and I am more than pleased with the outcome! He thoroughly explains what's wrong, how to fix it, what to expect, and stays as long as needed to answer your questions. He is excellent with kids and has great bedside manner. The wait in the office was never more than 10 minutes when I visited also! I would highly recommend him!

We were referred to Dr. Capelo for my son who was 15 months old at the time. He and his staff were very friendly, professional and overall made a scary situation less stressful, or as much as possible. My son was diagnosed with an infection in a disc in his back, we were in the hospital at Medical City Children's in Dallas, TX for just over a week. We saw Dr. Capelo quite regularly, he was very informative and was very positive. We would recommend him to anyone.
