Dr. Roger Riedel, MD

I found Dr Riedel to be a no nonsense, but very qualified. He took the time to explain what was going on with my heart and explained all the options and was also great with my family after the procedure. His staff at Parkwest was very professional and made me very comfortable during the procedure. I would recommend him without hesitation.

I was in the hospital with afib that was not being controlled by the medicine I was taking. Dr Riedel talked to me for a few Minutes then told me some options that we had. As we talked I could tell he was making the best decision for me. I felt very confident in this decision. The result was what we were looking for.

Poor bed side manor didn't discuss my heart all wanted to talk about is my weight. Ive had several heart caths with 12 stents and open heart surgery and am haveing trouble breathing wear ploumanary dr said do to heart .he did not address this and thsts why i visited him .would not recommend him to anyone

I was referred to Dr. Riedel by my family doctor. I felt really bad and thought that I'd wait weeks maybe months before I would get in. the amazing thing is that he worked me into his schedule that day. Wow!!! Anyone that needs a specialist knows that the wait time can be so long that you may end up in the emergency room before that appointment ever happens. This brings me to understand the wait time. If this doctor is working patients that have potentially urgent problems into his schedule you may have to wait. But think about this.....if you needed him urgently he would see you quickly but your wait time might be a little long. But think of the alternative, go to the emergency room and wait....how long? The staff is very nice and very helpful. They are efficient in that they schedule tests right away and make follow up appointments that day as well. I am not a doctor so diagnosis is up to the doctor but I will tell you that I was treated with medications and adjustments had… to be made and all is well now. He is absolutely one of the most easy to understand doctors I have ever met. I am fairly well educated but again I am not a physician, so I need information in words I can understand. I received that with Dr. Riedel. As busy as he is he still takes time to give you his undivided attention. I consider myself very good at reading people and he has a very sincere and is very straight forward at the same time. Long after my first visit with him I found out that he also volunteers at Mountain Hope Good Sheppard in Sevierville. Now that to me is a man of quality, kindness and a good Heart!!! So in conclusion, I highly recommend Dr. Riedel.

My son is 18 years old and was having chest pains. He was admitted into the hospital. Dr. Riedel was his cardiologist. I never saw him. My son went down for his stress test, and all verbal information was given to him and meds prescribed. In this situation... it would've been appropriate for him to talk to the family, given the severity of the situation. Us, the parents, hold our son's insurance in addition, we also pay the co-pays. The med that was prescribed for his rapid hr is not supposed to be given to patients with a history of asthma which my son has. My son does not have high Bp, so the beta blocker was a bad idea all around. My son said he was nice to him but arrogant. Arrogance is not good when dealing with serious issues. I would not recommend this doctor to my worst enemy.
