Stauber's front office staff is only interested in getting as much out-of-pocket money from you as possible, even if it means lying. After the many complaints I've seen, it seems to indicate a top-down lack of ethics. Merina ("that'll be a $20 copay") and Meriam (the worst, i.e."we need to bill your credit card, regardless of insurance") either (a) don't understand insurance plans, or (b) cherry-pick the most gullible patients. If your plan covers preventive screenings 100% and they say they want more, run away! There are better and more ethical doctors out there. You don't have to take it!
I've been a patient of Stauber for several years and this is what I have noticed: A few of his office staff are not the most pleasant & they have a high turnover rate. Stauber makes a good first impression, on your first visit he will take his time with you & answer all questions & concerns you may have, that's great & as it should be, the problem I have is that he will like for you to come in and see him once a week, pay your $50 copay or whatever it may be and spend 5 min with you and all he will ask is how are you feeling? Is the medicine working? You can do that over the phone, except if he did he would not get paid. Feels like he is just after the money.
Rude front desk lady at his office. She had major attitude whenever my husband called the office. The doctor kept asking my husband to come in for just about anything. He had him come in four times in one month and often it was just to tell him to schedule an appointment. So basically he was just overcharging. Imagine having to take off from work only to tell you that you just need to schedule another appointment. After the third time of going to his office and one lab, I decided to call to get my husband's results sent to him via fax and he wanted us to come in and pay ANOTHER co-payment just to get the results from the lab. Four times in one month. This guy just wants to sit back and collect $$.
