Dr Ross Alan Kommor

I have been a patient for more than 10 years and think he is highly competent. I would recommend him to anyone in need of of a gastroenterologist

Dr Ross Kommer saved my life 4 years ago and he couldn't have been a better advocate for my treatment! During a routine age related colonoscopy Dr Kommer found 1 polyp during my exam and took a biopsy of the abnormal looking growth. His years of expertise lead him to suspect the polyp was cancerous! He sent the sample off for a rush pathology report which confirmed cancer. He ordered some blood tests and sent me for a CT scan. Dr Kommer strongly suggested a Surgeon and Oncologist for me. I loved both of those doctors. It all turned out that I had stage 3 colon cancer. I received surgery and 6 months of chemo therapy! That's been 4 years ago now and I'm still cancer free all thanks to Dr Kommer and the wonderful team of doctors he assembled for me!! I would HIGHLY recommended Dr Ross Kommer!

Dr. Kommor was responsible for finding my colon cancer and I would highly recommend him.

After being hospitalized for issues w/ stomach this Dr was referred by hospital. The second he walked in he was rude & asked me questions about my history that he believed not to be true. I had a very rare cancer as a child & once he read that he was in doubt. I was drilled about the type of cancer, location of the cancer, asked was I sure I was a child when it happen, even having to pull up my shirt to show my scar after he asked. My history was relevant but had nothing to do with my visit. He was rude and quick and still didn't recommend or give advice on my initial complaint. He asked me to give him a min, walked out and the MA came in and gave me a summary of my visit with FALSE information. I paid a co pay for nothing and now I still hv to go see another Dr to see what is going on with me. My blood pressure also was 160/100, he didn't address that at all. He showed NO CONCERN WHATSOEVER! He was only interested in drilling me trying to make me out of a liar about my history. I have… dealt with Dr's pretty much all my life so its understood some do hv bad days, but I have never been as offended and disrespected as I was when leaving his office. Usually I wouldn't even write a review but hopefully his years in business will be enough for him to retire & not hv other come to him and be treated in this manner.

This is the first negative review I have ever written. I normally do not want to leave anything negative because I try to understand maybe people are going through something or there is something else I don't know or understand that brought about the negative experience. That being said, I wanted to write this so that others might think about it before going here and paying the expensive bills that come with healthcare now. First, Dr. Kommer was very quick and seemed to be in a hurry during the appointment. I didn't really let that bother me too much, but just noted it. I wouldn't have written this if that was all that happened. He did order some tests for me to see what was going on, and for that I was pleased. Now, before I go into what really bothered me I want to make clear that I am pretty patient. I understand that test results cannot be given the next day. I know it takes time to get them back and also for the doctor to review them. When I had the first x-ray done the techs told… me the doctor would have it to review later that day. I didn't hear back anything from the doctor for a week and a half. Then, the came back telling me they had an abnormal finding in my small intestines and wanted to do further testing. I went for a MRE and the techs told me the doctor would have the results in two days. I gave the doctor four days and then called. I was anxious to get the results due to them telling me they found something but still gave them time before calling. It is a week and a half later and the doctor still has not reviewed my test. When I called and asked them to if I could get my records so I could go somewhere else who had more time (and I was not at all rude because I understand it's not their fault) the lady on the phone became very rude and short and told me there was nothing that could be done and the records of the MRE could not be released. So, here I am a week and a half later and still haven't heard anything.

Excellent doctor. One of the best I've ever been to!

While at first he seems pleasant enough, it soon becomes clear that he is not a good listener when he interrupts you continously as you attempt to answer questions he posed. Furthermore, he makes erroneous assumptions that lead down the wrong path of diagnosis. Stay away!

Dr. Kommor is fabulous. I have been a difficult case and he has been an ally in attempting to figure out diagnosis and solution. You may have to wail to get an appt initially or if calling to set up next appt. But if you make follow-up appt in office or make appt that is needed through MA, wait is much shorter. I have waited up to 30 mins to see doctor, but generally much shorter. But, he is worth it!
