Dr. Ruby Thomas, MD

Dr. Thomas is an excellent psychiatrist who truly cares about her patients. My teenage son was her patient for several years. She always took time with him and went well beyond the expectation of 'normal' psychiatrists out there who only dispense meds. Not only did she ask about his medications and how he had been feeling, but she truly took the time to listen and see how he was doing, encouraged him to think in a more positive direction and appreciated his input as well as my own feedback. She addressed his issues in a very professional and positive manner. My son went to his appointments with her willingly and left happier. She made a great impact on him and ultimately on our family.

My son was a patient of Dr. Thomas for 4 years. During which time he went through many changes. Dr. Thomas was always available to talk to and very concerned about my son. Dr. Thomas took the time to listen and always came up with a solution. Unfortunately she no longer accepts our insurance. I have been searching for a "good" Psychiatrist for 3 months now and am totally frustrated with our insurance provider. I took my son to one provider that talked to him for five minutes and stated " He is misdiagnosed". The new psychiatrist did not even review the records that Dr. Thomas had sent! Needless to say I will not be going back to that doctor. I really miss Dr. Thomas and am VERY grateful for the care my son received from her!!
