Dr. Homewood serves as an excellent primary physician. He is interested in providing thoughtful answers to any question. He looks at the broad spectrum of preventative measures, including age/gender-appropriate screenings, to ensure overall care is received. When specialists are required, his recommendations have been excellent. His great management skills are evident in the seamless coordination with his very qualified staff, from Tiffany at the front desk to the friendly P.A.'s that check me in and provide injections, etc.
This is a terrible medical practice. Where to begin? My medications were all changed causing uncomfortable side-effects. I was frequently given medications to "quickly lower" blood pressure which left me dizzy and feeling unfocused. I discovered after starting with this office that my insurance would not cover any treatment related to my pre-existing condition (this was in 2012-2013) and requested to only have the necessary labs and procedures done, as I would need to pay for everything out of pocket. This was not done and if I did not come in according to their schedule, they would withhold the refills on my prescriptions. When it came to billing, I was billed for everything. I made arrangements to pay over time but payments were not credited, credited to someone else's account, or not auto-billed as I requested. When I was able, I paid the bill in full, only to be told that I still owed money. I dug up cancelled checks and bank records and told them that I had proof of payment. I got a letter from the billing department and thought all was well. That is until I started receiving collections calls. I sent in my proof of payment (cancelled checks with the OFFICE STAMP ON THE BACK) and was told that this did not count as "proof". I tried calling the billing department and never received an answer. I am not paying again what I have already paid and will fight this if the office ever decides to call me again.
I have had Dr. Homewood for approximately 15 years. He has always listened to any medical issue I have had, and has always ordered any testing needed right away when necessary. When I have asked about having certain tests ran he orders them as well when needed. I have never had any problems through the years and I have recommended him to friends. They have said he is a wonderful Dr. as well. Thank you!
He's all about the money! Never listens and just dismisses you like your not good enough for his attention. His office is filthy. The carpet is totally disgusting and has probably never been cleaned. There are cracks and missing tile where there is tile on the floors. But worst of all, you can hear other peoples visits with him in other rooms. I wouldn't recommend him to treat my dog let alone anyone I know. Thoroughly and completely disgusted.
I felt collecting money was more important that my health care. Beware! Mistakes by staff in codes. Some unfair charges were made. This happened three times. He lost our family and two families because of billing errors that we had no choice but to pay. The staff management say one thing and then do another.
Dr. Homewood is an excellent doctor and has an excellent staff who are very friendly. He listens and takes time to talk to me. He has a nice smile and good sense of humor, makes you feel at home. He has an excellent choice of PA'S. The waiting room is very clean and the wait time is minimal.
Short wait time, all my questions were answered, and all lab results returned promptly.
I have been seeing this Dr. for many years. Recently I moved over 50 miles away, but he is such a good Dr. I drive to see him anyway. Obtaining an apt. in a timely manner is easy. He always listens and is very kind.
Dr Homewood is a very competent medical generalist with a pleasant outgoing manor. A good guy with a lack of the "standard doctor arrogance" so common today.
This place is awful. I spend at least a half hour waiting in the room after the nurse brings you back. If you need anything be prepared to wait. They take multiple days to refill prescriptions that are necessary every day medications. I would rather go to an urgent care
Great staff, very friendly. This was my first visit and they made me feel right at home. Dr. Homewood let me explain why I was there, listen, then provide guidance. Very good bedside manner and helpful. I feel confident in him as my doctor and his staff to deal with the insurance companies.
There are serious confidentiality problems - I could hear entire conversations of him with the patient in the next room on several visits. The reason - at least 2 rooms share a huge window so the wall does not butt to anything so there is a 1-2 inch open gap between the rooms. I mentioned this to him and he 'played dumb'. He upcodes - bills for a higher level of service than I actually got. And when they call their billing office for you - they NEVER call you back. His office manager is extremely rude. When I asked him questions he was very arrogant and annoyed. His exam room smelled so he used some kind of automatic fragrant mist which also stunk.
Waited over 2 hours and never even got to see the Doctor. They didn't listen to my needs AT ALL! Very unprofessional. I will NEVER go back there! The office staff was nice. But that's not why I see a doctor!
The front office lady was super friendly and the young nurse guy was awsome! The Dr. Was very nice and caring. He listend to what I was in there for. I realy enjoyed going to see the Dr.
Thorough and caring provider. Takes the time to solve your problem and not just treat the symptoms. Will definitely see this doctor again.
I have a hard time believing some of the comments that are posted on this site! I have been a patient of Dr. Homewood's since he opened his own practice. I would never go to another physician! The office staff is very friendly and the receptionist Wendy makes sure that she greets EVERYONE the minute they walk in the door. I NEVER have a problem getting in to see him. He always takes his time with me and listens to my issues. I have NEVER been treated disrespectfully in this office! The medical assistants are knowledgable and very efficient. Are you other people that are complaining kidding me? You wouldn't know a great Dr. if it bit you in the face!!!
I am pleased with the care I receive in this office, I have had trouble finding a primary care provider that I really like, but Dr. Homewood is very t ...
I have been having back pain for years and after trying chiropractic and multiple physicians who just wanted to throw meds at me, I started seeing Dr. Homewood who has adjusted my back and done trigger point injections. My back pain is so much better that I rarely even take Ibuprofen anymore, which I was practically living on before. I appreciate that he is interested in fixing the problem instead of just masking it with medication!
Every time I come here they always remember me by name and greet me as soon as I walk in the door, even if it's been months since my last appointment. They are so thoughtful and amazingly sweet, I just love this place. I couldn't believe how knowledgeable and well-informed the staff was. They were able to answer all my questions, except the ones they needed to have their boss's input on. It was great to be able to talk to such a skilled staff. I knew I was getting top-of-the-line treatment when they told me about what they learned at the latest conference they attended, and how they were incorporating that knowledge into the practice. They made sure that their qualifications were obvious. I was confident that I was under the care of a professional.
Dr. Homewood is one of those doctors that is driven purely by greed. He shows a level of care over his patients that I would expect from a tree stump. My husband was his patient for years, and I am thankful that my husband is not dead. It wasn't until we saw the office's Physicians Assistant that we realized how BAD the meds were that Homewood was writing for my husband. It was just a BAD Bandaid and NOT anything close to a treatment or even proper diagnoses!
Dr. Homewood had his back to me for my visit. He only turned around with a snarled face and rolling eyes when he did not believe me when I said my joints hurt. He is a terrible doctor who does not listen.
Worst experience I have had with a doctors office. The staff in my opinion is the most disrespectful and condescending group of people I have met.
I had to change PCP due to insurance change & gave Dr. Homewood a try. My last doctor was very caring & really listened. You actually left his office feeling like he cared about you. I just left Dr. Homewood's office crying - if that tells you anything. I cried my whole way home & then continued to cry after I got home. The worst doctor experience I have ever had. I felt very rushed & like he was not interested in anything I was saying. He is a nice man, but definitely did not give me any sense of him actually caring about me as a patient. I came in with some pretty serious issues that I have been concerned about & they were all pretty much brushed off, followed with two prescriptions & a see me in two weeks. I don't know if I will be back in two weeks - perhaps he was having a bad day, & I may give him the benefit of the doubt & try him one more time, but I am not sure. I feel like I was completely brushed off & treated with disrespect.
I have never felt like a piece of cattle until my last and only vist at Dr. Homewood's office. If you are the type of person that likes to be rushed in and out then he is the doctor for you. But if you have concerns about your health then heed warning!!! I went to see Dr. Homewood with an infection, also had some other concerns about other areas that I wanted to discuss with him. I was told that I only had 10 mins and could only discuss 2 of my 4 concerns, so I need to pick which ones were of the most priority. If I wanted to dicuss the other 2 items then I needed to make another appointment. Once I was wisked off, I was supposed to have received two referrals. I did get a call from one of the doctors that they had sent the refferal to, but was completely unaware that they had sent the other referral until I followed up after waiting for a month. Office staff and nurses maintain the same mentality of their leader. I would never refer this doctor to a single person.
Have been a patient of Dr. Homewood for about 10 years. Recently added my wife and kids to his patient list. He's a likable guy. In general, we get in quickly when needing to be seen. He is helpful and thorough. Wife feels like he passes stuff off too quickly and should give more thought before writing a script. The new PA in the office, Abby, is ridiculous. I won't see her and neither will my family. I definitely recommend Dr. Homewood.
He is all about money, they charge you for everything. If you need a doctors note they will charge you any where from $10.00 to $75.00. Sometimes he is very right on with taking care of you and other times they act like you are the plague. I would rate as unpredictable and the mighty dollar is more importune than the patient.
If the need for paperwork is not brought up at the doctor visit and a seperate phone call and chart pull is requested later, there is a charge for that process. Customary fees in all doctor offices for paperwork are generally 10-25 dollars and are needed to maintain overhead since it is not re-imbursed by insurance. It would only be $75 dollars if the patient wanted a dictated letter on official letterhead.
