Dr. Ryan did not review my 89 year old father's records before surgery that was scheduled weeks in advance. Prep instructions were wrong and never reviewed. We arrived at 7am as instructed-to an empty office. Dr. Ryan finally arrived at 9am. My dad had fasted for 24 hours and followed all very invasive instructions given to him. Dr. Ryan looked at my father, quickly reviewed his file (finally) and informed us that he could not perform the surgery-though nothing had changed since the procedure was scheduled. Dr. Ryan moved on to his next patient, leaving his lovely nurse to clean up for him and do his dirty work. Thankfully, we found a competent and compassionate surgeon elsewhere.

Dr. Ryan performed surgery on me just about one year ago. I was sick for 7 years and saw a lot of doctors but was never diagnosed correctly. I was admitted to the hospital and was lucky that the surgeon on call was Dr. Ryan. He could not have been any nicer. When I called his office with questions or problems I literally heard back from him within 10 minutes. Cannot say enough good things about him.

Dr. Ryan operated on our daughter for a naval cyst & umbilical hernia. He was rude & insensitive from start to finish. As her family, we were with her the day of her surgery. He'd resented any questions asked of him, putting on an impervious attitude & mimicing backing away as we tried to ask questions of him. He minimalized any pain she had, telling her it was nominal surgery. It took a serious call from her husband to get effective pain medication for her. When she returned to get her stitches removed, he literally ripped them out, causing her to bleed at the stitch sites. The nurse had supplied steri-strips, which he refused to apply, telling her she didn't need them. He also spoke to her, as many Dr's do to a woman, like she had half a brain. He was insulting, rude, & has zero empathy for a patient. Our daughter has a college biology degree & took anatomy. Yet he spoke to her like a child. The entire experience was a nightmare. We hope other prospective patients will… first check out Dr. Ryan's reviews before being subjected to the same or similar treatment. Avoid this surgeon at all costs.

Dr. Ryan has terrible bedside manner. He was rude and didn't seem to want to bother answering any of my pre-op questions. His office is also slow to return any phone inquiries. Post surgery, he refused to prescribe me pain medicine, saying that my procedure was minimal, even though I was in intense pain. He talked down to me over the phone when I called to request pain medication 2 days post-op. He gave me little to no after care instructions and acted put out when I asked questions. When I returned to have my stitches removed, he did not wash his hands, nor wear gloves or sterilize the wound before he literally RIPPED the stitches out. He was so rough that I bled and had pain for 2 days. The nurse suggested steri strips to help with healing and prevent scarring. She even laid some out for him to use. I asked him to put them on, and he said, "You don't need those". Beyond all of this, Dr. Ryan was 30 minutes late for each of my appointments, and an hour late starting my… surgery. I would NEVER see him again, or recommend that anyone see him.

Was sent to this dr per my pcp. I shouldve known better after reading his awful reviews. I was healing from my condition nicely. He diagnosed me right away visually. I kept telling him it hurt when he was poking at my problem. HE MADE ME waaay WORSE...More symptoms than before. Pretty severe. I will never ignore a bad rating about Drs. WE NEED THESE WEBSITES FOR OUR SAFETY. Thank you Vitales.

While I'll read online this Dr. was hard to deal with - I found him very good, well educated, and he did a great job on a surgery I thought I would be hurting from for months - it's 3 weeks later and I am feeling much better and would refer any friends to him if they asked.

brutal, was in pain and did not want to wait for my appt with dr goldberg, office set me up with this guy and he made my situation 1000% worse by jamming his finger into my hernia and tearing it even worse,i sure need surgury now thanks to this guy

Honestly? There isn't enough space for me to tell you what happened to me, fully. From start to finish, it was a complete nightmare. Bad manners. Wrong diagnosis. Five years of extreme pain. He ignored me. He hurt me. He didn't listen. He lied on my medical records about the true events which occured during my appointments. All I can say is: DON'T DO IT. Find another doctor (unless you enjoy being spoken to like you're a stupid dog)

When Dr. Ryan operated on me there was a major complication after the surgery which he passed off as nothing. The result was I had to rushed to surgery for an emergency operation in the middle of the night and then spent a week in ICU and nearly died. The true nature of the complication could have been easily diagnosed thru a simple test and wasn't done.
