Outstanding Pediatric Neurologist

Dr. Coates was able to diagnose and successfully treat our son's condition after 2 other doctors were not. He took the time to explain everything in detail and was wonderful with our son, always making sure he was comfortable and relaxed, something pretty hard to achieve with a 3 year old boy.

My daughter had a debilitating condition that went undiagnosed for over a year until we met with Dr. Coates. We went to five different doctors until we were lucky enough to find Dr. Coates. He accurately diagnosed her condition after a single visit and referred us to the appropriate treatment. My daughter was comforted by his kind and patient demeanor. He was a life saver for my daughter and we are very grateful to have found such a wonderful doctor.

Hes a young Doc still has a lot to learn. Tries his best but gets easily frustrated when he can't figure out complex issues. Doesn't like being challenged by Parents or called out for ignoring patients concerns or issues. Will go months without a call back. Nurse is very rude. He always blamed his lack of care on the nurse. Don't know what the truth was. Feel he tried but he always didn't listen either. Needs to be around more complex neuro kids. Needs to quit pushing neuro psych testing which ends up pushing for neurofeedback which costs the family a fortune. Needs to refer patients to the right people and sources when frustrated or a patient is beyond his expertise. Believe he cares but still has a long way to go.
