Dr. Sanjay Mittal, MD

I did not have a good experience. I was referred to Dr. Mittal as part of out patient care at the same hospital to treat stroke like symptoms and perform additional testing to determine possible root causes. I arrived 10m early and was told there was one patient before me. The staff and nurse were professional and helpful, however the doc kept me waiting in the exam room for 50+ minutes. Dr. Mittal came in unapologetically and in a condescending tone repeated the diagnosis of the hospital. I explained the reason for the referral and scheduling by the hospital, however, he was insistent that my symptoms were not brain related and suggested I go to my general practitioner to review because he was a stroke doctor and I should consider a broad review. He said the brain had nothing to do with my symptoms, which I challenged him on, considering he did no further testing beyond what the hospital did. Frankly, I’m disappointed that the hospital and this doctor wasted my time and he… told me that I “need to figure out the problem on my own”. Never heard that from a doctor before, but can’t say I've had to see a lot of doctors in my past. Needless to say, and I know I’m one person with one opinion, but I will not go back to this doctor for anything. Hopefully, the several hundred bill coming my way will make me feel better about this experience.
