Had to wait 2 hours until we could see the doctor. I took my dad to get a prescription for glasses and ended up leaving without one. Am convinced its a cataract-surgery-mill. They had my dad watch a cataract surgery video before he'd even seen the doctor. Dr. Jaben was very abrupt, not friendly, didn't really listen to my dad and pushed him towards getting the surgery. Wanted him to schedule it and sign all the papers the same day, like a car salesman not wanting you to leave the lot. Won't go back for any further appointments. Some staff were nice, some rude.
he was condecending especially when I asked a question or made a comment while he was speaking. You could not speak until he was completely finished. Some of his office staff were rude. The overall appointment took much longer than necessary. He was trying to get more business when he seemed to have more than enough. I will not go back.
Don't care for him at all. Heard wonderful things about his skill as an eye surgeon (but not good things about his personality) and I chose skill over personality. I should have looked for someone with both.
I came to Dr. Jaben for cataract surgery. Prior to surgery, I had distance vision not requiring corrective lenses (and no restriction on my DMV driver's license). He implanted the wrong corrective lenses in cataract surgery. On subsequent visits he seemed unconcerned and dismissive, indicating my distance vision would be satisfactory with new glasses, and I was just that 1 in 100 case where the surgery wasn't successful. He did not offer guarantees at the outset, but I now wish I knew whether his failure rate was perhaps 1 in 10 rather that that 1 in 100. I would recommend consultation with others before engaging an eye surgeon, and disregard Dr. Jaben's air of self-assurance.
I accompanied my husband for a consultation for surgery. This man acted as if we were wasting his time. His bedside manner was horrific and he couldn't answer a single question with a straight-forward answer. He wears both contacts and glasses himself, so not a great reference for the surgery we were considering.
Complelety mis-diagnosed my complications after surgery. Had no answers and treated me like he was bothered and didn't believe me. Another doctor took only a few minutes to figure out what the problem was and helped me right away. Would never go back to Dr. Jaben
I wanted to have LASIK and tried two doctors before I found Dr. Jaben at TLC. I thought the entire experience was fabulous...from the scheduler, to the receptionist, to the office staff performing the testing all the way to Dr. Jaben. I found them all caring and professional (MUCH MORE SO than the other two offices I visited prior to TLC). Dr. Jaben spent nearly an hour with me explaining the process, the risks and answering my numerous questions. Dr. Jaben even called me at home the night I had LASIK to check and see how I was doing. He was at work at 7 on a Saturday morning to make sure that his patients were doing well after the surgery. I totally recommend Dr. Jaben and TLC!
Awesome doctor and I would recommend his services to all my family and friends
Call me old-fashioned but I miss the days when doctors would take the time to get to know their patients. Dr. Jaben is not one of those doctors. He had the nerve to give me business cards after the appointment and told me, in what sounded very rehearsed, to remember to tell my family and friends about the importance of annual eye exams. Seriously? I will not be going back to Dr. Jaben.
