I went through my own cancer experience several years ago and we didn't like the radiation oncologist who was assigned to us. When other girlfriends were asking for recommendations for radiation oncologists and were having problems finding a doctor they felt comfortable with, I was told they are not a terribly empathetic bunch.
Dr Cotter was amazing when we consulted with him about radiation treatment for my mother-in-law. He spent a lot of time with us, to the point where he was late for his clinic, and gave us the pros and cons of treatment, what would be involved etc etc. He was positive but realistic, giving us statistics for the chances of improvement with the radiation. In the end, we opted not to pursue treatment, but the decision was made easier because we had all the facts. Thank you Dr Cotter for being so kind and empathetic!
