Dr. Shahabi is the Chair, Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology and the Chair of the Reproductive Tumor Biology Research Laboratory at The Danbury Hospital Research Institute. Dr. Shahabi specializes in laparoscopic, robotic and open surgical procedures including:

* Advanced pelvic surgery for incontinence, fibroids, adnexal masses
* Treatment of the following cancers:
Ovary, vaginal, vulva
Cervix
Endometrium
Fallopian tube
Peritoneal
Gestational trophoblastic disease
* Omentectomy; pelvic node sampling and dissection; para-aortic node sampling and dissection; radical hysterectomy
* Radical vulvectomy; cystoscopy/sigmoidoscopy for cervical cancer staging; bowel resection and/or anastomosis; ureteral anastomosis or
repair; colostomy repair; pelvic exteneration

Dr. Shahbi is very competent, knowledgeable, caring, and careful. I had a difficult surgery because I am so thin, and I was worried about bowel and bladder damage, but she did an excellent job and there were no ill effects. She doesn't rush through appointments and follow up, both in the hospital and afterwards, is excellent.

Dr. Shahabi is one of the most professional, trustworthy, and thorough doctors I have ever had. I always feel comfortable and confident with her decisions and she always takes the time to listen to her patients needs and concerns. She sees her patients as people and takes the time to get to know them on all levels. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this practice!

Dr. Shahabi was absolutely wonderful given the type of practice she is in, she was extremely caring and took things very slowly when explaining things for me. She had absolutey no problem going over things more than once or rewording so that I could understand her better. She was quick to get me additional testing and in turn learn that steering me away from another unnecessary surgery would be most beneficial. As my last few doctors have been very quick to "cut" this was an eye opening experience for me, which I am grateful for. She has since referred me to another doctor that will work with me for medical management of my issue, as opposed to undergoing surgery every year since turning 21. I will be forever greatful!! - Thank You Dr. Shahabi

I am a nurse, and I found Dr. Shahabi's bedside manner very unprofessional. She was very condescending and sarcastic to me when I asked her what my non-surgical options were for me.
