Dr. Sonja Voelkel, MD

I have had two surgeries with Dr. Voelkel and she was amazing both times. She is professional and soothing when you are not feeling confident :) She answered all of my questions and her office nurse called me multiple times after both surgeries to check on me. I would recommend her to anyone! Wonderful doctor.

She was the best OB GYN..very patient made you feel relaxed & comfortable..

I was very happy with Dr. Voelkel at the beginning. She was very kind and answered all my questions. As time passed I realized she was very busy. I never saw other Doctors in the practice, but I did see Nurse practitioners. Towards the end of my pregnancy I only saw her twice...and I felt my questions were silly when I asked by her reactions. My baby was fully breeched, and I very much wanted a natural labor, but they do not check the position of the baby until 36 weeks...which makes it very hard for the baby to flip. From then on communication was terrible with the office trying to schedule a C-section. They scheduled it on her lunch break. When I was admitted to get ready for the surgery, Voelkel came in and checked on me and tripped on my IV ...and walked out of them room. When she tripped she pulled out my IV and my hand began to fill with water (which I did not know at the time)...until I told a nurse my hand felt very weird. Once I was in delivery, they started surgery… without my husband in the room...and I had to ask where he was. I was overall very dissatisfied. She is a wonderful surgeon and I healed very quickly...but did not have the experience I was looking for in an OB. Did not think she had good beside manner, and takes on too many patients.

Dr Voelkel is simply awesome!!!
