 |  Hands down worse bedside manner ever experienced  |  show details
by patient on Nov 9th, 2013

There are times you wonder how a guy like this lasted as long as he did. I am guessing he changed practices a lot because patients wouldn't see him and others in the practice got sick of him, or he tried again and again to go it alone, but would have starved that way eventually because he is absolutely the worst doctor as to personality and bedside manner I have experienced. I am also a medical provider (he kept insinuating I was lying to him about that BTW) and he literally lost all composure when I thanked him for something. You DO NOT talk when he writes apparently and he seriously mumbled looking down at his clipboard/chart over and over for about 5 minutes "I am just trying to help I am just trying to help....." and couldn't get his mind back to the task at hand. He didn't look up either. I asked him too how my echo was I had done (the previous one showed some abnormality) and he SO sarcastically kept saying "Oh, so you want to know uh?" and never did tell me. he is a donley with a capital A ....actually this is demeaning to donkeys. I have no profesional or personal beef with him other then 2 office visits. I am just saying like it went, but this guy is not right. How someone hasn't unloaded their fists on this guy I'll never know. He can't be married cause my guess is he treats everyone that way. AVOID HIM. I started to REALLY tell him how I felt at that visit and that he needs serious mental help, but my wife shook her head not to (she knew I would be too honest with him and didn't want the conflict). I did tell his front office staff as I walked out (to never return) that he was sick and they said they had heard that from a few people. See him at your own risk. He's in his 70's and my guess is he can't retire because he couldn't make the $ he wanted because people don't want to see him so he still has to work. It's not because he's caring and concerned about others.

Was having bouts of chest pain, didn't know if it was heartburn or heart attack. During my initial appointment, Cantor listened to my heart over and over again, leaving the room to get different stethoscopes. He didn't say much but had his office staff schedule some tests. A week later I had a test and he came into the room and told me they needed another test, but this test would be in the hospital. I asked when, and Cantor told me they had already admitted me. Had a heart cath that afternoon, and emergency bypass following that test. He knew something was wrong with my heart, and more than likely saved my life. I wasn't the best patient, and maybe his bedside manner isn't perfect, but I will take good doctoring over an outgoing personality any day. It's been two years, I'm 50 years old, and I'm doing Triathlon endurance races now. I owe this to Dr. Cantor.

He's just a jerk. I asked a question when I apparently was supposed to be not talking because apparently he was writing something and he flipped out. It took him 5 minutes at least to get his composure again. Some strange mental issue with this guy. He's pretty rude overall and if you do get to ask a question he's pretty sarcastic back to you like you don't need to be asking. He's old, 50 years into practice, I don't think he cares. But with so many rude and bad docs anymore, just let you know this one is another in a long line

No smile, no friendliness and he doesn't like you talking. only HE talks unless he lets you. Just rude and incomfortable. Acts like your just pissing him off. I don' recommend him
