Dr. Steven Abelowitz

Dr. Abelowitz is an extremely knowledgeable and caring doctor. I have two year old twins, and thanks to Dr. Abelowitz, he diagnosed my son with mild Cerebral Palsy at 6 weeks old. This allowed us to do early intervention therapies and he is currently showing very little signs of CP. I am so grateful to him for knowing that something was not right;had we waited and not diagnosed it and not had therapies, my little man would not be where he is today. Dr. Abelowitz definitely cares and is a top notch doctor. We recently had our two year well checkup, and I was able to tell him that my son had been released from physical therapy and I could see he was genuinely happy and thankful for my son. Bottom line, he is an amazing doctor as well as the other doctors that work in the practice. I have never had an issue getting an appointment. Plus, they areopen on the weekends! Another plus given that kids always tend to get sick on the weekend!

We are new in town and a dear friend recommended this Dr. to us for our 3 children. We couldn't be happier, he spent time with us explaining all the changes my son will go through now that he's 13 and he was very thorough with all the checkups, explanations and giving us referrals for other Dr.s in the area (dentist, ophthalmologists, etc.). Very happy to be here!

Coastal Kids is a greedy practice - if you go to this doctor's offices (they have 3, it's a bit of a factory) than make sure you don't give them your credit card or you may be over billed like I was.

We have three children and Dr. Abelowitz has cared for all of them. He has excellent knowledge of any issue we've had with our children, whether it be a serious issue, or a more mild issue, and he really cares. He's been on the phone with us multiple times on a Sunday when one of our children had severe stomach flu just to make sure she wasn't dehydrated, trying to keep us out of CHOC. We have also seen other Dr.'s in his practice that are good, but I wanted to add that he runs the most on time of any of the other Dr.'s we've seen.

He is a wonderful doctor. Great bedside manner, nice staff, willing to fit you in on short notice. I am quite happy he is my children's doctor!

Dr. Abelowitz and his staff care for my daughter and they do a tremendous job. They are caring, attentive, accomodating, and always have the patient's best interests in mind. I highly recommend Dr. Abelowitz and his practice.

Dr. Abelowitz has taken care of my 3 children since their birth. I can wholeheartedly atest to the fact that Dr. Abelowitz is the most ethical, experienced, intelligent, nurturing and gentle physician I have ever known. Without his expert diagnostic skills, my oldest daughter would have been paralyzed from the waist down or worse if he hadn't diagnosed a rare mass on her spinal cord at 11 months old. Throughout the ordeal, Dr. Abelowitz patiently and clearly explained to us what was happening and what needed to be done to treat my daughter (surgery and 2 years of physical therapy). He was a constant source of support and optimism. Today, my daughter is a completely normal 6 year old because of Dr. Abelowitz. He is our angel. In my opinion, every doctor should strive to be as moral, trustworthy, educated, informed and compassionate as Dr. Abelowitz.

Dr Abelowitz is an excellent physician-you don't get a better peridtrician than him. As a first time mom, all you want is to be able to provide the best care for your child. Luckily, I have found this in Dr. Abelowitz and his practice. Dr Abelowitz and his staff always ensure that we receive the best care possible. My daughter is so lucky to have him as a doctor!

Our (firstborn) son was premature, and Dr Abelowitz cared for him from the start. We always felt that our son was in the best hands, got the best care, and we always got all our questions answered. If anything, Dr Abelowitz encouraged us to ask for more information. Even though he has a lot of patients, he always remembered who we were. His diagnoses were spot on, he referred us to other Dr.s when needed, and our son is perfectly healthy now.

While many obstetricians had little or no H1N1 vaccine for their pregnant patients (who are higher risk), having completed the Orange County Public Health Department and state forms with honest estimation of need numbers, this guy lied and ended up with 15,000 doses. Then he got free TV and newspaper coverage for "sharing" the completely government funded excess doses with the public. Oh, he returned 2,000 doses to the Public Health Department. Does this make him a hero or a self serving publicity hound who used government funded injections to drive new patients into his group's practice?
