Dr. Stuart Larson, MD

I absolutely love Dr. Larson. He’s a great Dr., and his staff is wonderful

I have been seeing Dr. Larson for nearly a year now. From my very first visit with him last summer I have been nothing less than impressed. It is quite rare that I should find a doctor in the field of psychiatry that I feel comfortable with; however, I can definitively say that such is the case with Dr. Larson. I see him monthly via Telemed, a service much like Skype. One would think that such a meeting would make for a distant and depersonalized experience, but I find that it has no bearing whatsoever on the comfort or quality of the service. As for the doctor, himself, he is not only quite knowledgeable and experienced, but is also intuitive, empathetic, and open with his patients. He allows them to be part of the decision making process when it comes to their particular treatment. His overall demeanor is topped off by a particularly pleasant and amicable personality. Dr. Larson gives his patients the time and attention that I have yet to experience from any other MD in this field of… medicine. Whereas most psychiatrists seem to be cold and often detached from their patients, this doctor is the reverse. He seems to genuinely care for the wellbeing of his patients and exhibits a level of confidence in his ability to treat them that ensures that they, too, may feel that there is hope for their situations. His counsel is invaluable!

I've seen Dr Larson since he began practicing psychiatry at Comp Care. He is an excellent doctor and will listen to your concerns. Over the years he had suggested a couple medications I didn't want to take due to side effects, and he didn't push those meds on me. He's friendly and intelligent. My mental health is great right now; I just need maintenance care.I'm not sure who the assistant is that the other reviewer mentioned. Perhaps the insurance specialist? I haven't had any dealings with her. His other assistant Sheila has always been kind to me; I haven't seen her in a long time so I don't know if she still assists him. His secretary is also kind and helpful. I recommend Dr Larson without any reservations.

His assistant is AWFUL. As long as we are dealing directly with the doctor, everything is great. That woman spoke to me on the phone like I was nothing but ignorant white trash, and I certainly did not appreciate it--I didn't go to college for 7 years to be talked down to by a secretary. Because she neglected to do her job, my family has to suffer. How complicated is it to make a phone call and fill out forms? And then talk to me like I did something wrong?! She was insensitive and rude and I didn't appreciate it one little bit!
