Dr. Thomas Jason Cesarz, MD

Dr. Cesarz was by far the most helpful spine specialist I have seen . He listened intently to what I had to say and made sense. I saw him one time and would like to see him again. Unfortunately, I have lost track of him.

My inital impression of Dr. Cesarz was ok. I didn't feel he did anything different from what my primary doctor did that qualified a referral as a specialist. On my second visit, I was very disappointed as nothing was determined and when he left the room I did not know if he was returning. I had no idea of the plan of action. I later found out he wrote a diagnosis of fibromyalgia in my chart without discussing it. I went to physical therapy at another location and they found rotator cuff problems and neck issues through further testing ordered by my primary doctor. I would NEVER recommend this doctor. He was not thorough. His only concern seemed to be if I was depressed, wanted to hurt myself (which I do not have a history of) or if I had loss of bladder or bowel control. Not impressed. His secretary Vanessa, however, was very accomodating and kind and professional and followed up well. I was unable to get physical therapy through Summit b/c of hours.

I sought treatment from Dr. Cesarz due to HealthPartners clinics scheduling my treatment out for 3 weeks. I was in severe pain and could not wait that long. Dr. Cesarz worked me into his schedule immediately, understood the severity of my pain and the urgency for my need of relief. Although the treatment he administered was not successful, he immediately referred me to a surgeon to address my injury. I would highly recommend Dr. Cesarz.

Dr. Cesarz is the perfect example of everything that is wrong with Summit Orthopedics. The man is rushed, unprepared, arrogant, and either rudely dismissive or just plain stupid. When I questioned him as to why he thought my injection was severely painful on one side, and quite tolerable on the other, his answer was "Sometimes that happens." I'm a stay-at-home Mom who previously worked in healthcare, and I am married to a physician. I understand human anatomy quite well, and would argue that there is a far more intelligent and medically sound answer to my question. Cesarz was either too dumb to have an answer, or was too arrogant to actually listen to my question and give a thoughtful response. Either way, my encounter with him was the last and final strike for Summit. I prefer my physicians to view me as a whole person, not another financial cog in their Orthopedic Empire.

Helpful, courteous, accurate, and now, I'm feeling better than I have in a long time.

He did not listen to my concerns or symptoms, minimized my pain, his only recommendations were drugs and PT neither of which worked. He told me he couldn't help me refused to refer me elsewhere. Never read my file prior to an appointment.

This doctor has a very poor bedside manner. You tell him something is wrong and he shrugs it off. I feel like just a number to him. I wouldnt recommend him to even my worst enemy!!
