Dr. Thomas Volatile, MEDICAL, DOCTOR, MD

I came to Christus medicine and Dr volatile and tinkler, August 2nd of 2023 after a nearly fatal car accident I found myself with a shattered acetabulum pelvis and tibia plateau. Dr tinkler duct taped me together but I was left with a osteophic bone mass that grew so big it took away my ability to walk. In August of 2024 Dr tinkler and Dr volatile together did a complete hip replacement, hardware removal, and removal of the bone mass. It took them 6 hours to complete the surgery. While I might not have like their bedside manner they have the hands of gods and have given me my life back. I am a year post surgery and I have no limp, I'm able to dance again, and most importantly I am able to play with my kids and chase my toddler around. Thank you so much Dr volatile and Dr tinkler they quite literally save my life. If you care about personality they're not for you, if you care about quality of life, they're your guys.

He is an excellent surgeon. I was back to my normal life and work 4 weeks after my total hip replacement.

I would say Dr. Volatile is a very good doctor however, his nurse Krista Bain is rude and insulting. While under the care of our son she called him stupid twice on the phone. Our son is very polite on the phone and her treatment of him was far beyond professional. She was rude to me on the phone as well and I never provoked her to respond to me in the manner that she did. If you can get past her, Dr. Volatile did a great job with his surgery but I believe someone in the organization needs to have a meeting with her on how she communicates with the patients and their family.

New to the Tyler area from the DFW Metroplex. I needed an ortho doctor. A friend recommended Dr. Volatile, I went and he recommended a bi-lateral knee replacement. I never looked back. Surgery, the nurses at Christus, rehab staff and everyone I came in contact with were top notch and patient focused. I wish I had done my knees sooner. I am 12 weeks out and already can do more walking prior to surgery. Thank you Dr. Volatile for being patient focused and for giving me a better quality of life.

My daughter uses Dr. Volatile and convinced me to go see him. It was the best thing I did. He is an excellent doctor. He has great bedside manner and takes the time to answer your questions and explains things to you in a way that you understand what he is doing and why.

I had a freak accident over a year ago and crushed my knee and broke my leg. I had 3 surgeries in Longview which none of them worked, they were absolutely awful. I am 58 years old and was told by my previous surgeon that I was as good as I was going to get and that meant walking with bone on bone and on a cane for the rest of my life. I went to 4 other surgeons and had second opinions from Ft.Worth to Houston. Dr. Volatile took his time and explained exactly what he could do and has the best bed side manner and personality of all of them. He made me feel comfortable that he was capable of completing the surgery and told me I would have me back to normal. He did a complicated complete knee replacement on me 6 weeks ago. Today I can bend my knee to 125 degrees which is excellent and I can almost walk without a limp. I can't wait to see how much more I will improve in another 6 weeks. I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking a surgeon for knee replacement. I now have a life… thanks to Dr. Volatile. Lisa-Longview Texas

Just had a knee replacement and have come through it with minimum pain. His staff reviewed everything that would be done before the surgery and the Dr. was prompt, pleasant and did a wonderful job.

Dr. Volatile did an excellent job on my knee replacement. His method for doing this surgery greatly lessened the post surgical pain for me and speeded my recovery. Please remember rehab is also a factor too.
