 |  TOTALLY, IMPRESSED AND AMAZED W/ DR. TONY  |  show details
by Robbie on Mar 26th, 2013

I am happy to say, I had my 1st appointment (a second opinion) with Dr. Tony. I posted a few weeks ago regarding my fears of seeing a new dr. Well, I,ve been a pain pt for over 15yrs, I can honestly say I have never been treated so wonderfully has I have by Dr. Tony. I got an appt within 3days, (jennifer the appt scheduler) was so nice. I am vey impressed with DR. TONY AND STAFF. Dr. Lababidi, certainly is in a league by himself. He gave me hope, and he listens. ( I think he spent 40min with me. (To those who say they wait to long, it because he cares enough to listen) I think I will be very happy in my treatment with dr. Tony. He gets 4 stars in my book. I just hope he never changes or gets burned out. What he offers in being so kind, caring, and compassionate is totally rare in todays pain mgmt field. Thank you DR. TONY.

 |  IS THERE ANYONE WHO REALLY CARES IN PAINMGMT?  |  show details
by ROBBIE on Mar 9th, 2013

1st let me be upfront, I have not yet seen this doctor. I was referred to him for a second opinion by a well known onocology/pain dr(not taking new pts). I was burned badly 14 yrs ago and had over 30 surgeries. I have nerve intrapment, RSD, KELOID SCARRING, just to name a few. My first pain dr lasted over 8yrs, he moved on. Than I get a new one I start to trust, then he moves on. Now I have 1 who saw me 1 time, (I liked him) then my next follow up I am I have to see a nurse pract cause my insurence dropped my doctor. I see a different person almost every other visit. Each has their own. opinion regarding treatment that I agreed to with the first Dr I saw. I have had all kinds of injections over 14 yrs, the trial for spinal stimulator(didn't help the keloid) i was put on a pain patch 12 yrs ago and even though it seems very high in dosage I haven't had a increase in 10yrs till I am at the place I am now. I voluntarly had myslf taken off all meds (in patient) every 5 yrs or so, just to make sure I am having servere pain and give my own body a chance to make its on pain fighting abilities. Sadly, every time I free my body of all meds and go about normal living, my illnesses hammer me so hard, last time I couldn't even walk. Then, the pain meds start o. again, but barely work. in conclusion, I am afraid and tired of this life ,but what can I do except pray and hope I find a doctor who cares and does,nt pass u off to nurses or fellow drs who don't really know you. My point is I believe in being held accountable, being complient, upfront, honest and having a excellent OARS REPORT. With that said, I also research who I may trust my care to. After . This reading some of these reviews, I find myself at a crossroads. There are good reviews and others who sound like they seen what I go through where I am at currently. So what to do? I hope th.

Way overpaid drug dealer! For nothing you never see a Dr. and when you run you will not get a new Dr. because 4 Drs. have written your scripts in 6 months and that IS Dr. shopping!!!Three times I've seen elderly crying bc they just cdnt wait any longer and then were treated like druggies!but many times I've heard lowlifes selling their scripts before they even saw the Dr.,I mean nurse..Truth!..(obviously you have NO CLUE who's 'really' in pain!) P.S. your responses are a joke! You have chronic pain issues?I bet you don't! I'm sure you control it very well with your choice of meds. and bet you do not get injections either and scan your ins. for many un-needed injections!.and you wdnt pay the overhead with many offices if you ddnt care-only a moron that can not do math would believe that!even if you only had 1000 MONTHLY patients times $10,000 for injections -that covers your overhead.. smh!

I have been in pain for almost 12 years. I have been seen by many doctors and have become hopeless and lifeless until now. Dr. Lababidi listened to my concerns and gave me options. He is very caring and knowledgeable. I am so excited to have found him and look forward to having a meaningful life again. The pain has rob me and my family of many things. May God bless you Dr. Lababidi because he has blessed me finally after all these years. Robin Scott

May 11th, 2011

Let me start by saying before seeing Dr Tony I was very discouraged and frustrated by not only the lack of "bedside manor" I was seeing but that several of the doctors were just "perscription happy". So not only was my experience emotionally defeating but the doctors were "bandaging" the problem instead of looking for a solution. I started seeing Dr Tony as a referreal from my "PC" very reluctantly. Because of my previous experiences I went into my appointment defensive, as well as, sure I was waiting my time. Much to my suprise in walked a very compassionate, attentive, caring physician...who actually listened to me and my concerns. I have had several injections done on my back with anywhere from minor to sever reaction to steroids. Most doctors told me I was full of it that these "side effects" can't be true. Dr Tony listened and we agreed on slow progression of the inj. till we started seeing signs. (instead of blowing me off or telling me he was the dr. and these side effects are in my head ect.) I can no longer get back inj because my swelling and pain @ the site of the inj. Has progressively gotten worse after each inj. Please know this is NO FAULT of DR TONY'S. I have explained all of this because as I'm sure some have you experience when you get so far in your care with your physician and something that the Dr can't explain they give-up and either tell you they can't do anything else for you or push you off onto another physician. Dr Tony has NEVER given up on my and my medical needs. He has always reassured me that he is there for me and that he will and has gone the extra mile to keep treating my medical needs! Yes, his practice has grown by "leaps and bounds". Staff has come and gone. To those of you who complain about some of the staff or the other physicians in his practice...Everyone doesn't get along with everyone! Try one of the othe members of his staff. There is someone in the practice that will fit your personality! I know when your hurting the last thing you want is to feel put off. I also know that Dr Tony is very concerned with all of his patients concerns either medically or the professionalism and kindness of his staff. Dr Tony has given me back my quality of life allowing me to enjoy my 16 year old daughter as well as my marriage!Dr Tony, if you still read these... I personally want to say simply... THANK YOU!!!thank you for as you have done for me as well as thank you for all you do for others!!!!!

 |  Dr. Lababidi gets it wrong.  |  show details
Apr 23rd, 2011

I went all the way to Kent to have an epidural injection of my Cervical spine. When I arrived I was preped and put on the table face down. The doctor made an attempt to inject lidocaine. I felt the sting but then felt the spray of the medication on my back. He immediately began the procedure. I was not anestatised. It didn't really matter however because the doctor was injecting my thoracic vertebre not my cervicle. I tried to tell him to stop but in the position I was in I could not move. I tried to protest the pain but was told that I should not be feeling anything. I think they just thought I was complaining. I have been and still currently am a Paramedic with 23 years of service. I have taken Anatomy and Physiology classes and know what section of spine the doctor was injecting. I do hope that he has not made other mistakes on other pts. I am going to call my insurance company and explain that the procedure which I was asked about prior to it being done should be paid for. Come Monday morning I am calling to get an explanation as to why this occured.John R. FarlowDoylestown, OH

I see Dr. Lababidi on an as needed basis for hip injections. I always get an appointment quickly and always speak to a live person at the office. The office staff is very understanding and will do everything they can to help you. After years of hearing that the only solution was taking medication, I saw Dr. Lababidi and began getting hip injections. They are amazing! I am able to move and even run! something I haven't been able to do in a long time. Thank you to th eDr. and his staff.

 |  Recent changes in the office.....still love Dr. Lababidi though  |  show details
Dec 9th, 2010

I have been seeing Tony since before he even had an established office. My first appointment with him was in the recovery room at WRH. Tony is a very professional doctor w/ an awesome beside manner....I would recommend HIM to anyone. He has always gone over and beyond to try to ease my pain....we've tried numerous things, though I hate to say and have to accept, my pain is just being "managed" at this time. My pain causing issues are basically unfixable (atleast that is what I've been told by several doctors)After 6yrs of having the pain I have learned to cope with it through medication & injections. I would like to explain why I say I would recommend HIM to anyone. I say it that way because he has recently added more staff/doctors to the practice...that is something that I do not care for. I would rather stay with Tony who knows my case rather than having a doctor who doesn't know me from Adam or Eve, walks in reads my chart over a 1min period, doesn't really ask me any questions other than where the pain is....why I haven't tried Chiropractic or massage therapy, how much pain meds do I take every day. (the dr I am talking about is Larsen) First off...If you read my chart THOROUGHLY you would have read that I have had numerous tests and seen numerous doctors with no resolve other than the Pain Management w/ Tony. I have been on the same regement for years and this doctor just takes it upon herself to cut my meds more than in half and think it's ok. Then proceeds to tell me (in the reception area in front of a room full of patients) that she did that because I said I only take 1 a day and then I proceeded to tell her that no that is not what I said....I said that some days I take 1 and some I take 3 as prescribed...and if I take them as prescribed I have better pain management...I for a long time wouldn't/couldn't take them as prescribed because I am a mother of 4 kids...can't really function when you are hyped up on pain meds all the time. But now that the kids are all in school all day...I can do so if needed. Some days are better than others...there is no rhyme or reason as to why. So then upon getting home I call the main office and request a message be left for either Lisa or Tony. The staff was unusually nice today (very surprising)I explained to Zech what had happened etc....and was told Lisa would call. Which hours later I recv. a call from Zech stating that he talked to the supervisor and was told that what ever Dr. Larsen says sticks...basically too bad if I run out of my meds, gave me a big F..k You basically they way I felt. So I guess once again I will have to suffer until my next appt in 4 weeks. I asked to schedule my next appt. w/ Tony and got the big old run around....but finally got an appointment scheduled with him....oh did I mention I haven't seen him since May (@ an injection) I've been seeing Lisa for the last 8 months until today. Which was fine because she knows my case and kept me on the same regement.Wanted to mention too.....since the office has grown drastically the wait time is ridiculously too long! Not to mention being an established patient and having been pushed on a doctor that knows nothing about my history/case/issues....that's just wrong. Here's an idea.....have your NEW patients that are still working out the kinks in their treatment be seen by the new doctors and Tony keep seeing strictly the established patients that he has formed a trusted relationship with. I don't appreciate being insulted and treated like a drug addict by Dr. Larsen and some of the other staff there at the Akron(corporate)office. That is far from the truth......Tony/Lisa know that. READ THE CHART!Does anyone else see where the problem is in this? I truely hope that Tony reads this and I get feedback before my appt with him. Trust that I will make sure he is aware that I am unhappy about this.....one way or another.

I went for years not understanding what was wrong with me. Thanks to the good Dr.s in this office they got to the root of the problem. I spent many years in servere pain. I have seen both dr.s in this practice and I love them both. They are caring and do not over dose with drugs . They give you what you need to be able to funtion and have a normal life again. And with what they have done for me with shots and medication I have a much better life now. As for the other reviewers who had negative things to say about this Dr. I cannot see these Dr.s turning their back on anyone in pain unless they were not folling the program the Dr had set up for them. And as for the staff Tereasa the nurse in the Kent office is awesome and always returns my calls asap. Sincerely Cindy Bonath

 |  Injection Happy!!  |  show details
by JL on Jun 18th, 2010

I had my first visit at the Wadsworth office of Dr. Labibidi. It was terrible. I have several slipped discs in my back and my family doctor referred me to him. He told me that he will give me injections in my back and burn the nerves that will keep coming back. I told him that I was not comfortable with getting injections. I have read the side effects of these injections and I would never do it. I asked him if he could put me on pain and anti inflammatory pills instead. That was basically what my family doctor had had me on plus a muscle relaxer. I tried to explain to him how I felt in my everyday life. That I'm a father of 4 and work heavy labor to take care of them. He then told me it was arthritis. He told me either I get the injections or nothing!! He was rude and obviously didn't listen to a word I was saying. Later I called his office to find out how much the injections cost, even though I have medicaid. The lady that took my call from his office told me "on average ABOUT $500.00" I was shocked. Let alone I would have to get several at a time. This then made me realize how MONEY HUNGRY Dr. Labibidi IS!! Of course him giving me prescription medication would not work for him because he would not make as much money off of it. Instead of listening to me and my concerns he told me it was either his way or no way, when he is supposed to as my pain management doctor help me manage my pain in a way I also feel comfortable with. I told him there is no difference between injection pain killers and pill form. I would have to be on it for the rest of my life.He said it was the addiction thing he was worried about, when its actually MONEY he is worried about. Weather its injections or pill form there is a chance of addiction, because I would just keep coming and scheduling for injections for the rest of my life or orally take medication. So I asked him what the difference would be if he is worried about addiction. He did not answer and changed the subject.I will not be going back to Dr. Labibidi's office ever again. I will NEVER recommend him to anyone and make known how I feel about him and his injection happy practice any where I can!! This was the most pointless doctor's visit I have ever been to. He is not thinking about his patients and their feelings all he is worried about is how much money he can make off of you and to tell you injections are the only way. I would never pay "on average about $500.00" or anything for that matter and risk the side effects. There are other methods besides injections. But like I said after calling his office and finding out the price I realized why he would be pushing injections. Don't fall for it!! Absolutely amazing how he is. Terrible!

I was in pain for two years before I finally decided to see Dr. Lababidi. He listens to all of my concerns so that he can effectively manage my pain. I am a 31 year old female for a 2 year old daughter. My pain was so bad that I could not even sit on the floor and play blocks with her. Since seeing Tony, my pain has been managed enough that I no longer feel as though I am trapped and a body 50 years my senior. I thank him and his staff for giving me my life back, and I would recommend him to anyone that is suffering from pain on a dialy basis!Megihan Zednik Pedery

Don't know what they are talking about, don't care about patients very unprofessional! treat people badly! Tony is very nice but when you schedule with him specifically they give you a different doctor that does not know anything about your case and then schedules a surgery when he knows nothing about you. Drug test, make you wait hours if you can't pee! stand a scheduling desk when leaving for 30 minutes on feet when you are hurting, don't give medications you need, terrible just terrible place, find somewhere else to go. VERY PAINFUL INJECTIONS, said they would knock me out and didn't hurt worse then having a baby, will never go again!!!!!!!!!!!

Jul 20th, 2009

Dr Lababidi's office in Kent and in Green, i have ALWAYS waited more than an hour for a visit. I have seen him over 4 times in the office, and for his injections he has the same timely manner. Dr Lababidi has been treating me since March with none of my MRI reports, Discogram reports, and their staff are people picked off the streets. The staff in the office, has NO idea of anything that is going on, and is not knowledgeable about anything concerning medical questions about procedures or what is going on AT ALL for that matter. When I call the office and need some information, i NEVER get a live person, and I always end up leaving a message....which they don't return. They return your calls after the 2nd time you call. I was in extreme pain back in March, and my percocets we not working for the pain, he told me to take ibuprofen. Needless to say, anyone who has ever had any kind of extreme back pain knows a couple ibuprofen isn't going to help. Tony had me on 3 different meds (percocet, tramadol, and celebrex), and ON TOP of all those meds, he wanted me to take an extra 3-4 ibuprofen. He has ove 4 offices now, and can never get you in for an appt if there is anything that comes up that you need to see him for before the month. He is money hungry, and could care less about how he treats his patients. A young Dr. and has a lot to learn.

Mark as Helpful  | 1 person found this helpful Report Abuse
Doctor's Response

There are many patients that I see that are addicted to narcotics, particularly percocet. It is virtually impossible to make these people happy as any responsible physician who cares about their patients will not give a patient what they are asking for which is often more narcotics. I will try weaning the doses or offer a detox program. I will also recommend that they try ibuprofen because IT WORKS for acute pain and it is perfectly acceptable to supplement a long acting NSAID with one that covers acute episodes. As for the comments related to my office staff and the phones, I will look into this. I do have four offices in an attempt to accommodate my patients who do not want to drive long distances to see me or have the means to do so. If I cared so much about money, I wouldn't carry the overhead of four locations, I would centralize in one location-save A LOT of money and make the patients drive to see me. I care very much about my patients and as a person who struggles with my own chronic pain issues, I do understand and I can empathize with my patient's situations.

I've been seeing him for over a year.He wanted to do a spinal cord stimulator. I wanted a second opinin. He said the Dr. I was going to see a neurologist wasn't a good dotor. VERY Unprofessional! It's his way or find someone else!Be careful!!I wouldn't do the stimulator so he refused to sign my disablitly papers!after he had them all filled out.Told me to get the other dotor(neurologist)to sign them.

Doctor's Response

I know exactly who this patient is and I am extremely disappointed by these comments as I worked so hard with this patient to help with his pain and give back his quality of life. I gave him my personal cell number to contact me if he had any questions or problems. He told me that he was seeking a second opinion and I both encouraged him to but also cautioned him because with his diagnosis, there was one treatment that had not been tried at this point that would work. I had spent extensive amounts of time with this patient and knew that he would be spending money on unneeded tests. I encouraged him to get a second opinion but from a different place than where he intended to go for one. This patient has since come back to my office, told me I was correct in my diagnosis, (complained that the neurologist had ordered many expensive unnecessary tests) and asked me to implant the spinal cord stimulator. This patient is now virtually pain free and is a very happy satisfied patient. I will be asking him to please print an update on his condition as he clearly wrote comments in anger and I am very hurt to read them. I care about my patients and what they think about me and I do check these boards regularly for valid feedback.

I have been going to several doctors over the last few years and Dr. Lababidi is the first doctor to actually spend time with me discussing my diagnoses vs. "Here's a perscription see you in a month and please don't bother me in the mean time" attitude. After 2 years of not getting any better or having any answers, Dr.Tony L. has pointed me in the direction of "light at the end of the tunnel". Don't get me wrong he isn't a miracle worker, but thats the nice thing about him...He doesn't pretend to be either! Having a GREAT bedside manor, as well as, listening you can't go wrong if you choose to have him as your doctor.
