My aortic dissection and bicuspid aortic valve were repaired by Dr. Risher in 1995 and I'm still here 2 decades later

Quid-bypass surgery in 1995. No problem since then, as Dr. Risher is an excellent surgeon.

I was a patient of Dr Risher on January 4th, 1994. I came to him with a aortic aneurysm and a bi cuspid aortic heart value. Something that was miss diagnose for over 15 years. Dr Risher walked us through everything and spend a great deal of time making us feel at ease. It was his first surgery at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. Because diagnostic equipment was no where as good as today the bi cuspid aortic value was not identified until i was in surgery. The value was flown in from Rochester, MN and the operation took 11:30 hours. After the surgery Dr Risher took over 2 hours in a room with all my family explaining the procedure he had done. He drew pictures on a blackboard and answered all their question. When I awoke he was there and talked with me to assure me I would be fine. I was out of the hospital in 5 days and saw Dr Risher regularly until he left Rochester. He once commented after a post op angiogram that he had never seen his work before and said he did and excellent job. It is almost 18 years now and I am doing great. As a side note one of our son a few years later had decide to go to Tulane University where Dr Risher went for his degree. and Dr Risher said he could give him 15 minutes to talk about Tulane so he could write a paper and decide if he would like to go there. He actually spent 2 hours and our son was accepted to Tulane were he was 2nd in his class, went on to Georgetown Law school and now practices law in Washington DC. I came to this site to find Dr Risher because my oldest son was just diagnose with the same thing I had and will need surgery and there is no one I trust more that Dr Risher to do the job. You don't need to go anywhere else you have found the best there is here. Nelson Peck, Rochester, NY
