Dr. Sarfraz Ahmed Choudhary, MD

A few years ago I was transported to the Loudoun INOVA facility by ambulance. Dr. Choudhary screened me for infectious disease in the ER. It was discovered that my problem was not caused by any infectious disease, but I was hospitalized for over a week. During that time, even though my problem was not in his purview, Dr Choudhary was the most consistent presence throughout my stay. He visited me nearly daily. During the times that I was depressed and frightened he comforted me and tried to help me see the light at the end of the tunnel. When I think back to that difficult period, it is he who I think of as the most positive interactions. I can’t thank him enough for his kindness… so much so that a decade later I felt compelled to come and share my experience here. Thank you, Dr Choudhary.

I have lived in many places and have had some wonderful doctors. There are some wonderful ones here, but I needed a specialist due to my having many health problems , one of which required a specialist. Dr. Choudhary is one of the best I have seen and I feel confident that he knows more and can help more than anyone I know. I am grateful for him and his office is kind, thoughtful and patient. I feel lucky to have seen Dr. Choudhary. Unless you have lived in many places, seen many doctors in many different specialists, you cannot appreciate how special he is. Already, I have outlived my life expectancy and with his help I hope to continue to do so. After having lived in nine places and having had health problems since an infant, I DO appreciate Dr. Choudary/

I'm so happy to have found Dr. Choudhary and his group. He and his staff are very professional, and he is a very humble and knowledgeable doctor. He knows well which tests are best for helping to make a correct diagnosis. His attitude is like that of a specialist doctor. I'm going to start seeing him as my primary doctor.

Need to improve the attitude toward all kinds of patient

This doctor’s office presents like a glorified travel agent with a Lyme prevention product sideline. Choudhary did not thoroughly read my chart and was dismissive of the 5 weeks of fever I had experienced and the two bouts of pneumonia treated by two rounds of antibiotics and high dose prednisone. His response? “Maybe you have seasonal allergies.“ And I do...but not this time of year and they’ve never caused fevers, night sweats, and tremendous fatigue. He also asked that I “come back in three weeks” if I’m still experiencing fevers. Go anywhere else...the minute clinic would be better.

I have used Dr. Choudhary for a travel Dr. for over five years. I travel frequently for work and they can always fit me in even at last minute for travel consults/meds. All the staff are friendly and professional. They always have the country information handout ready to give me at the appointment. Because they keep good track of my records they can quickly say what needs to be done. I'm always confident that I'm up to date on all shots and have appropriate medications no matter where I go in the world because the office and Dr. Choudhary check carefully. Dr. Choudhary also treated me in the hospital when I came home with a resistant bug once. No other regular Dr's found an antibiotic regimen that worked, but as an infectious disease specialist he was able to do it and get me back on the mend. He expressed genuine care and concern and I've told all my family if I ever get sick after a trip again - call Dr. Choudhary first!
