The reason I do this work is pretty simple. I love what happens after the appointment, not during it. There was a patient who'd been hiding her teeth in photos for ten years. The day she sent me a picture of herself actually smiling with hermouth open, I kept it. I also think about the dad who told me he'd stopped laughing in front of his kids because he was embarrassed, and the woman who walked out of a job interview and realized, halfway home, that she hadn't been thinking about her teeth at all. She was just there, doing the interview. That's the part that still gets me, 12 years in.
My clinical focus is cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, and full smile makeovers. I completed dual implant fellowships with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI) and the American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics (FAAIP), which means most complex implant and reconstructive cases can stay in-house. I don't have to send you across town for a specialist referral. I'm also a certified Spark Clear Aligners provider, and I offer Botox and dermal fillers because when I'm planning a smile I'm looking at the whole face, the way the lips move, how everything sits together. I call it Face-Driven Dentistry.
Outside the cosmetic side, we're a full family and emergency practice. Kids are welcome from their very first visit. And if you break a tooth on a Tuesday morning, call us. We'll do everything we can to get you in the same day.
In 2025, Dr. Daniel O'Brien retired after 36 years caring for patients at 340 Maple Street, and he trusted me to take over the practice he'd built. I don't take that lightly. I needed full dentures and had been putting it off for years because I was nervous about it. Dr. Ambereen Fatima at Innova Smiles made the whole thing easier than I expected. She was patient, took her time getting them to fit comfortably, and had me back to fine-tune them instead of just sending me on my way. I'm in my 80s and she treated me with real respect the entire time. I can chew and smile again, which I honestly wasn't sure would happen at my age. If you want a gentle dentist near Marlborough who's good with older patients and dentures, Dr. Fatima is who I'd point to.
