Dr. Paul F Cosgrove, DDS

Very disappointing visit today. I called yesterday to set up an appointment after numerous texts reminding me that a visit was past due. I called, and the front desk asked if I had the same insurance. I told her I did. Upon checking in the girl at the front desk asked if anything had changed with my insurance. I said, "no". I was called in. Orleane (lovely girl) did my ex rays and cleaning after talking about me being a NYCDOE teacher. Not putting any blame on her, she is not the one in charge of knowing insurance information. As I'm checking out, I received the news that UFT (United Federation of Teachers) is no longer accepted-out of network, that I had to pay $210 for the visit. I expressed my frustration, so the dentist reduced the price to $131 after I explained that in no point in time was I informed about the insurance changes. In my opinion the right thing was for him to only charge me the copayment. Moving forward Dr. Cosgrove should have his front desk trained better. I'm… sure I'm not the only person this has happened to. Either the staff is incompetent or this facility has a SCAM going on, as I read another review on YELP stating a similar experience. I want to be clear my dental experience was good. I just want to warn others to double check, that the office indeed takes your insurance, since the front desk will not do their job.

Dr. Cosgrove is great! I bring my kids to him and they feel very comfortable with him. They don't argue about having to go to the dentist anymore. I, also, get treated by Dr. Cosgrove. He is friendly and professional.

Dr Cosgrove was great. He was friendly and professional. In addition to myself, I brought my 2 sons to see him. Dr Cosgrove put my sons at ease. They told me they liked the dentist and want to go back. I felt that Dr Cosgrove was patient, caring, and knowledgeable. His office was modern, up to date, and clean. We just found our new family dentist!
