After graduating from The University of Michigan’s School of Dentistry in 1987, Dr. Krigbaum attended a hospital residency program in Philadelphia’s Albert Einstein Medical Center for two years. The second year he was the chief resident, administering the first year residents, and teaching at Temple’s School of Dentistry’s oral surgery department. From Philadelphia, Dr. Krigbaum went to The University of lllinois’s Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery program in Chicago for four years. There, he had a wide range of exposure to maxillofacial deformities, trauma and pathology.
Dr. Krigbaum finished his residency program in 1993, and has been in private practice ever since. He became board certified in 1998, maintaining his board certification status by passing a re-certification exam in 2007 (re-certification is required every 10 years in most surgical specialties). He holds fellowships in The American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, The …American Dental Society, The Wisconsin Dental Society, and The Central Wisconsin Dental Society. He has been the department chair for The Department of Dentistry at Wausau Hospital, as well as the chairman for Peer Review of Central Wisconsin Dental Association. Dr. Krigbaum has privileges at Aspirus Wausau Hospital and the Northwoods Surgicenter in Minocqua, WI, and sits on numerous committees for the hospital.
He has been in Wausau since 1995 with his wife Monika and daughters Jacqueline and Danielle. He performs the full scope of oral & maxillofacial procedures, but has a special interest (with many years of continuing education) in the field of implant dentistry.
