Dr. Gwendolyn Simmons Reeve, DMD

Dr. Reeve was fantastic, and she was in charge of my oral surgery. I felt comfortable the entire time. The residents working under Dr. Reeve will definitely succeed with her guidance. If I needed jaw surgery again, I would 1000% choose Dr. Reeve. She has great bedside manner and explained everything clearly to ease my concerns.

I really can't say enough how appreciative/thankful I am for the opportunity to see Dr. Reeve. For the first time in a long time I am feeling like there exists the potential to address my debilitating obstructive sleep apnea in a meaningful way. Dr. Reeve is crisp, professional, and balanced in her explanation of risks and benefits - if you have oral/maxillofacial surgical needs, I would wholeheartedly encourage you to seek out her input.

I was referred to Dr. Reeve for my TMJ symptoms. Upon my initial consultation with Dr. Reeve, I immediately felt comfortable and confident in her ability to convey her knowledge of my medical issues and understanding of how they were impacting my daily living. After non-surgical interventions failed, the decision was made to address my underbite and TMJ pain with Orthognathic surgery. Dr. Reeve worked to coordinate my pre-surgical orthodontic work with my local orthodontist, making sure that I felt informed every step of the way. On the day of the surgery, Dr. Reeve was able to ease any of my last-minute concerns again through her fantastic bedside manner, making my walk to the OR one of confidence rather than nervousness. Now being post-surgery for 5 months, I can say that Dr. Reeve has completely changed my life for the better! I am completely satisfied with the results of the surgery and couldn't recommend a more qualified surgeon to perform this surgery. Thank you, Dr. Reeve!

Dr. Reeves is my new favorite person. Because of her, I now have relief, something I haven't had in over 15 years. The TMJ surgery was much less invasive than what other doctors do, based on my research. Three weeks out, my scars can't even be seen, & most importantly I have little to no pain. I never thought this was possible. No matter your location (mine was 4hrs away), if you need an expert, it's worth traveling to be under her care. She's phenomenal; she cures. I'll be forever thankful.

Doctor unwilling to thoroughly explain treatment or condition, does not listen. Rude to patients, staff, and residents. Clearly more interested in her own authority than the patient’s wellbeing.

Notice all the good reviews are by men. I had seen 4 doctors for my TMJ. Dr. Reeves came highly recommend by another male Dr. at W.C. She was SO MEAN & RUDE. Even her nurse was embarrassed. I’ve NEVER met Dr. w/intentionally bad bedside manner. She had me wait 40 mins. (but that was okay I was looking at my cell phone). But when she came she impressed me as very young and accomplished to be an oral surgeon, fighting for her place in the feild. I respected thay. But then, she peered directly into my cell phone which took my by suprise. I got the message that I was in her office where she could do and say anything. When she examined me and gave me her diagnosis she called it a “derangement of my jaw” which I didn’t get right away, then said it was TMJ. After much explanation which was full of medical jargon. I wanted to get it right so I politely asked if I could write it down on paper. She dissmissively said “It’s really not that hard, but since you say you can’t remember anything,… I’ll let you write it down.” After several other insults. Then, she said even though I have TMJ, it wouldn’t be worth it to even send me for imaging to see what’s wrong because the surgery wouldn’t be worth it for HER to do. She suggested I chew on one side only, dont eat steak or bagels. That was that. I gave up on the workup, so dehumanizing was the appt. I just thought others should know.

DR. REEVE WAS JUST CHECKING OUT SOME WORK PREVIOUSLY DONE BY ANOTHER DENTIST. I FOUND HER TO BE PLEASANT, COMPETENT, AND WILLING TO EXPLAIN.
