Dr. Homa Shahriari

If I could give her 0 stars, I would. I had two visits with her and the first visit she drilled my tooth to do a root canal. For my second visit, she didn't remember who I was and what I was there for, and acted like her memory disappeared. That's when I explained how I came for my tooth and she drilled it for a root canal, and then she remembered what she had to do. After I told her I have dental insurance, she didn't like that and only wanted cash. She then proceeded to tell me she didn't know how to do root canals. She is the biggest liar I've ever met. She then gave me a referral just because I had insurance. I suggest if you're thinking about going to her, don't go, especially if you have insurance. Think twice - believe me.

I really thought that Homa Shahriari, DDS was nice. Here is the thing nice wasn't just it. Her and her staff always rushed my kids appointment. Here is my experience with this office. I hope many people ready this so they can see the signs and go else where. I have always taken my kids for their cleaning. They would clean my daughter who is 12, but when it came to my son who is 5 she would just look at his teeth and say he was good. My son wasn't all good. I had taken my son in for a tooth that got injured when he was young. She said it was fine. Later months down the road I noticed his tooth had turned black behind. I took him back she said if he doesn't feel pain to leave it. So about 2 weeks later I woke up to his too lip swollen. He had a high fever and I thought he maybe had an allergic reaction. Didn't click it was the tooth because Dr Shahriari said he he was fine. The night was horrible it wasn't until my son told me all his teeth hurt. First thing in the morning I call the… dental office. Since I told them that the tooth was giving him problems they did see him early that morning. I went there and they prescribed a antibiotic for him and took xrays of the problem tooth. She never once took a full tray of his mouth. The receptionist wrote out of prescription of pills for my son. The doctor then got upset with her because it was the wrong dosage plus it was pills. After that she wanted to see him the following weekend. She wanted to pull the tooth in her Encino location. I went and my son did not want to let her pull the tooth. She then got irritated because my son was crying and she didn't want him to scare any other patients. She told me then to call her office and tell the receptionist that he needed to see a specialist. During this time I was thinking he should have been sent to a specialist in the first place. The following Monday morning I called the office. The receptionist then told me the person was out. She suggested that I call my insurance so they can call her with questions about why he needed the referral. My insurance did call and the receptionist told her that she did not know how to do. My insurance then got upset and decided to do the referral after I picked out the specialist. The insurance put it in as an emergency, so I then went to the specialist and they took a full x-ray of his mouth. The Specialist then told me that my son needed root canals and also the problem tooth pulled. The Specialist then told me that the root canals could have been prevented if his dentist would have done the x-rays or sent him to the specialist if he didn't want her to touch him. I was in shock and very upset that my son have to go through this. I called the office to talk to Dr. Shahriari. The receptionist was very rude with me and I wasn't able to talk to the dentist. Since then my son has have to have for root canals and his tooth pulled. It's something that could have been prevented and he did not have to go through this. Please think about your decision of picking this dentist out for you or your family.

This office does not belong on Angie's List. They do not comply with the dental plan. Tried to overcharge. Very disappointed and dissatisfied.
