Dr. J Richard Lawrence

I went to see Dr. Lawrence for a 1st time checkup in his office. The woman who saw me first told me she wanted to have x-rays taken. I explained that I had had x-rays taken within the past 6 months and I didn't want to be exposed to radiation again so quickly. The same woman then proceeded to clean my teeth using ice cold water and she was very rough during the cleaning process. When I got home I had bleeding on my gums from all the abrasive contact with the dental tools used during the process. When Dr. Lawrence came afterwards he looked into my mouth for about 10 seconds tops. No detailed examination, no using of mirrors, no testing of old fillings. The cleaning and checkup was very crude and I got the sense that they only really care about making money. Not interested in patient well being. When I got my insurance statement a few weeks later I noticed that they had billed my insurance for x-rays even though they didn't take any. This dental practice is in my opinion unethical and… more interested in maximizing profits than caring for patients. I would recommend skipping over this dental office.
