Dr. Jeffrey L Coy, DDS

I have been seeing Dr. Coy for 2 years because he took my Union insurance. His techs are great with cleanings but he seems to have an obsession for replacing crowns. I have had 5 crowns replaced/installed in the last 2 years. The crowns are serviceable at best but appear to be poor quality as my bite shifted and I went through some agony until my mouth adjusted. This last crown he is working on has had to be tightened 3 times--this time with a bad infection due to food getting underneath. The antibiotic he prescribed is not working--I went through a night of intense pain-right up to the ear. I called this morning for a stronger antibiotic only to be informed he only prescribes 2 types and the second one was less strong. Seriously---as soon as this infection clears up--I had to call my primary for a script--I am finding a real dentist. I should have remembered --you get what you pay for. Cheap dentistry is not worth you health. Stay Away!!!!!

Poor work for bridge, took on and off over 4 times! No backup dentist either! Receptionist is rude too.

I started with Dr. Coy in 2004 when he was as Whitestown Dental and stayed with him until recently. 3 times in the last few years I have gone in for a cleaning and check up only to be told the dentist took the afternoon off and would check them when I came back in another 6 months. One time they said he would just check the x-rays. But they never took any x-rays for him to check. Then recently I called was when I broke my tooth and was happy the that they could get me in the next day because the sharp tooth was cutting my tongue. The next day they called to say the dentist was leaving for the afternoon and would have to reschedule for the next week because it was Wednesday, he only works mornings on Thursdays and they are closed Fridays. The earliest they could fit me in was the next Wednesday. When I said I would have to find another dentist, Jess (the most unfriendly, uncaring receptionist I have ever seen) just said ok. I found another dentist that got me in within 2 hours.… After many years of thinking he was the dentist I would stay with for the rest of my life, I now would advise anyone looking for a dentist not to consider Dr. Coy. I've seen print ads and heard him advertising on the radio for new patients - probably because he can't keep the ones that try him.

This is by far the worst dentist i’ve ever been to. I was scheduled for crowns and he came in started numbing my mouth without even a simple hello. Also, I had no idea he was even going to be giving me shots. He gave me FIVE shots and wanted to give more but I thought I was going to pass out. He just pushed me back into the chair and said “you’re fine!” What kind of dentist does this? He burnt my gums so bad that blood was ACTUALLY coming down my face and it smelt like burnt flesh in my area. He didn’t respond when I asked him what he was doing. He just sighed and groaned. The least he could’ve done was respond to my questions on what he was doing to my mouth. Finally, after getting temporary crowns that are only supposed to last two weeks. They told me they can’t fit me in for SIX weeks. When I asked how I was supposed to keep from breaking them for that long or keep them in for that long because they aren’t even made to stay in for that long. They responded by saying, just be careful… because if you don’t then he’s gonna have to do burn your gums again. That was by far the worst experince of my life. I can not wait to find another dentist. He doesn’t care about his patients at all!

I read a comment of a recent patient and the same thing happened to me. After many yrs as a patient and much work on my teeth, I went in for a routine cleaning. My teeth ached, a little after cleaning. Four days later the pain of my gums was very bad. I called the office and told them I thought I had a infection. They asked if my face was swollen and if not, I could have a appointment in 3 weeks. Must be the norm with them, to make you wait that long. Said Dr. won't give you antibiotic. Well the pain got so bad, I called another dentist that was referred to me. She got me in next day. Sure enough, I had a bad infection and was put on a antibiotic. Missed 5 days of work because my face swelled like balloon and my eye closed. Called to cancel appointment I had in three weeks and told them about infection. I could have died, it was so bad. He does not care about his patients.

Wonderful. Had a tooth bothering me for years after a previous root canal. Dr Coy fixed the filling inside the root and I haven't had pain since. The procedure was pain free and his staff was great. The office is very busy but run very efficiently. It does take some time to get an appointment but worth the wait considering he is one of the only quality dentists I have found that also takes my insurance .

I have been a patient of Dr Coy for over 10 years. I was very disappointed in the care he gives the patient. I had a tooth ache and called the office, They told me they can't get me into the office for 3 weeks. I got upset that they didn't even offer to give medication or try to get me a appointment.I knew I could not wait 3 weeks so started to call around and did get a appointment with someone else. This shows me he does not care about his patients. About two years ago I had a problem with another tooth, and he said he could not pull it . What kind of dentist can not pull a tooth?Make sure you ask whatever dentist you get If they can take care of root canal, pull teeth and see you when you have a problem.He just lost my family as patients. The best person in that office is the dental hygienist Lori.
