Dr. Jody L Yeargan

Dr. Yeargan grew up in West Virginia and served twelve years in the US Army, where he learned about dedication to higher purpose and discipline. A veteran of Desert Storm, he exited the Army as an artillery officer. Dr. Y. earned a Biology degree before graduation from West Virginia School of Dentistry in 2002. Dr. Yeargan has perhaps too many hobbies. He builds kayaks and owns a guitar. He has too many cameras and loves using them, particularly landscape and infrared photography, but his children say he takes too many pictures of them. Dr. Y. and his wife Amy have two teenage boys who have been encouraged to enjoy skiing, travel, music, and strategy games as much as he does. The boys have owned birds, snakes, lizards, frogs, toads, hissing cockroaches, and dogs to help them foster a love of all things living. Currently, the family has two happy, but very high energy dogs named Roxie Rose Chainsaw and Waffle. Dr. Y. builds scratch built scale model aircraft and working models of …trebuchets, cannons, and catapults. He tinkers with machines, optics, and electronics. He is an avid reader of science fiction and non-fiction military history, World War One being his most preferred topic. He loves playing computerized strategy games. Hiking in Iceland, biking the Shenandoah region, practicing his German, and traveling to new destinations with his family are examples of some of his favorite things to do when not hard at work mastering the art of dentistry. Dr. Y. is completely ambidextrous and writes equally badly with both hands.
