My wife and I used to bet if Duke would get our prescriptions right or wrong. We now bet how they will get it wrong. I now understand why people turn to black-market alternatives. There are some nice people but there are a lot that look down their noses at you.

We are from South Florida and we found our cancer medication is out of stock at the wholesale level. When we called the nurses at our local major hospital, where our local neuro oncologist is located, we were made to feel they had never heard of such a problem and why are you bothering us. After about 4 calls, back and forth with the local nursing staff, I picked up the phone and called the specialty pharmacy at Duke Cancer Center. The individual who took this call was enormously cooperative and made me feel that the patient's needs came first. It was easy and smooth. Everyone connected with the Duke Cancer Center should feel proud they work in this type of atmosphere. Thank you.

It is very difficult to order a refill. I can't find any place online. And you can't order your refill ahead of the refill date.

My husband is terminally ill. I called ahead earlier in the day twice. When they finally found my husband’s prescription on the 2nd call, I was asked when I would like to pick it up. I said 3 pm as it is a 45 minute drive from my home and that gave them 2 hours to prepare the Rx. I arrived at 3:15 pm and was told it would be just a couple of minutes. It’s 4:30 pm now and I am still waiting. If she had said it will be ready tomorrow morning, I could have made the drive tomorrow morning. Very disrespectful of other people’s time and circumstances
