Today I write this review in the hopes of informing other patients and professionals to use caution when putting the care of your health in this particular Dentists hands. One star given only because a star was necessary in order to submit. I trusted this dentist to examine, and treat my chief complaint which was initially a toothache. The Dx was an occlusal almagom filling. Before the procedure I was given a sufficent amount of lidocaine to numb the surrounding nerves, I was jolted from the pain which I immediatly tried to halt the proceedure. Having voiced the pain I experienced I was not given another injection of lidocaine but a look of annoyance and felt pressured to proceed and told that the pain I was feeling was not the nerve touched by the drill bit. The proceedure went on, I did feel the live nerve again briefly. Following the completion of the proceedure I experienced discomfort, throbbing pain, sensitivity, awful ache and an absess on the gumline of the very same tooth. Having already experienced what I would describe as the sheer lack of concern for my welfare as his patient, I made an appointment to return to DDS Gordon's office. I did so under the guise that as a medical care provider he would listen and then get to the, pun intended "root of the problem". I wasn't told to come in immediately but instead asked if I wanted to schedule appointment for my toothache. My second experience I was waiting alone in the exam room staring out the large windows or some time at the turtles confined within a poorly constructed habitat of bricks and overgrown long dead weeds. Finally, the dentist entered took a peek at the gum and instead taking a new Xray he brought out the old one from BEFORE the tooth was filled and pointed out where the decay was that it was not near the root. All this but what of discussing my options or treating my chief complaint and the fact that I had an absess and in pain? He was like a bull in a china shop loud tall and angry all uneccasary and completely unprofessional he came back only to hand the assistant a check meant for me. I was given a check for the amount of the amalgam filling and he was up and still loud and clearly disturbed HIS COMPLAINT to whoever was within ear shot.
I was shocked, appalled, disillusioned and still in pain when I left the office. I have never seen or heard of such behaviour. As a victim of this disturbed medical care provider, find his sanity and valid/legal medical licence questionable. Report to Dental Board.
