After graduation, she was accepted into and received certification from an accredited General Practice Residency at the Hospital Center at West Virginia University. This provided extensive postgraduate training in the areas of Periodontics (gum disease), Prosthodontics (crown and bridges), and Oral Surgery. She has also received extensive postgraduate training in Periodontics and Laser, Implant, and Sedation Dentistry. She received her fellowship with Academy of General Dentistry in 1994.
She is active volunteer in the Virginia Dental Health Foundation, traveling to rural and underserved areas to provide free dental care for indigent residents.
Dr. Fischer is active member of the American …Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Virginia Dental Association, the Northern Virginia Dental Association, the Northern Virginia Implant Society, the World Clinical Laser Institute and the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation.
