Rabbi Janet Bieber
Rabbi Janet Bieber has served the Southern California Jewish Community as an educator, chaplain, counselor and Cantor for over 25 years. In 2005 she received Rabbinic Smicha from the Academy for Jewish Religion. For six years she served at the Jewish Home for the Aging in San Diego as Rabbi, Cantor and Administrator of all Jewish programs and religious services.
Rabbi Janet holds a Masters degree in Jewish Education from the University of Judaism and has taught over 400 children and adult B’nei mitzvah privately and in classes. She has performed numerous concerts in Hebrew and English, with Yiddish Songs as her specialty. She is currently working on integrating English into the Yiddish text to preserve the sound of the Yiddish while making it accessible to everyone. Her most recent CD, “Kol Isha: The Voice of a Jewish Woman,†contains music in Hebrew Yiddish and English and includes two original compositions.
Rabbi Janet is currently the Director of …Religious Education at Temple Emanu El in Burbank.Â
She is available to all those in need of Rabbinc services – weddings, funerals, baby namings, lifecycle events.
