Dr. Mark Kevin Claxton

No pain or issues other than a couple of cracked fillings before entering the office. After I let him work on me, my teeth are painful in a big way. I tried to save a buck by going there, but ended up paying for that mistake big-time.

Was lied to about cavity, needed crown front tooth, and told I had advanced gum disease and would need to spend 10-12k immediatly or lose my teeth, I'm quoting. That was 10 years ago and I have no gum disease or problem with my front tooth. He's a crook.

This place is gross, smelly, dirty, archaic equipment and rude staff. Don't go.

Dirty, cluttered office that has a strong moldy smell upon entering- probably coming from the two aquariums that need to be cleaned. The chairs, furniture and X-ray machine are all antiquated and look like they have been there since the 60s or earlier. I almost walked right back out of the door but had gotten time off of work specifically to get my teeth checked. The dentist barely looked at my teeth and based all of his diagnosis straight from my X-ray. I was told that I probably had two cavities, but when I got to the front to check out they told me I had 7. The receptionist was pushy and explained things quickly. I am definitely getting a second opinion elsewhere and will not be back.

I have been going to Dr. Mark Claxton for years. I have never had any discomfort with the many crowns I have had, nor have any of them ever needed to be replaced. He has some high tech equipment for onlays which is very impressive. His office staff are wonderful and the hygienists are, as well.

No one really likes dentists. But Dr. Claxton would be an exception to that rule. First of all, if you need to get in the same day, they can almost always accommodate you. If they can't, it will be the next day. The office staff is on top of their game, knowing everything they need to know about your insurance, your out of pocket costs, etc. You never leave not knowing why you paid what you paid. And they are willing to work with you for big ticket items, like the 5 root canals I have gotten there.Dr. Claxton is easy-going and gentle. He makes you feel like you are just hanging out, not having your teeth drilled out. He's always saying "You don't worry about anything. It's my job to do the worrying." and other types of things to put your mind at ease. He doesn't start doing anything major until he is sure that you are totally numb. Which is a major deal in a dentist. He is quick and painless. He is funny. And he treats his staff really well, which I think is important.
