After 3 years at Miami University, Dr. Smilack was granted early admission to The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. Dr. Smilack attended OSU's College of Dentistry from 1968 - 1972. He graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS). After graduation, Dr. Smilack served with the U.S. Naval Dental Corps in San Diego, California from 1972 - 1973. Dr. Mark Smilack returned to Columbus, Ohio and took over the private practice of his late father, Dr. Benjamin Smilack. Dr. Mark Smilack has been in private general practice from 1973 - today --- some 30 years. Dr. Smilack is a Fellow in the International College of Dentistry; a Fellow in the Pierre Fauchard Academy of Dentistry; a Fellow in the Academy of OsseoIntregration; a member of the Ohio, Columbus, Chicago, & American Dental Associations. Dr. Smilack is a member of the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity; a member of the Academy of General Dentistry; …& a member of the Seattle Study Club. Dr. Smilack has an emphasis on oral rehabilitation in the practice. Surgical and restorative implant therapy, all phases of surgical & preventive periodontics,endodontics, & TMD (TMJ) diagnosis and treatment are performed at the office --- in addition to general dentistry.
