Dr. Matthew G Niemiera

I decided to try a different dentist (only because I hade a dental discount plan that he took). My regular dentist which I will be going back to very soon )(for him to do a really cleaning and exam) is excellent. I dental cleaning and check up annually. I wanted to save some mom so I used my dental discount coverage and chose this dentist (1) he was local, 2) his brother who is also in the medical field is an excellent cardiologist). Long story short. Dr Niemiera only took two X-rays of the same tooth. In reality he was supposed to take several X-Rays to view and inspect of all of my teeth. My cleaning was spotty meaning it was not thorough - he only did cleaned the area that he saw tartar. HE only did the front areas not the back areas of the teeth. He did not even comment on the plaque that I know that have. Also the polishing was spotty too (he only did here and there). Basically it did not even feel like an exam, it did not feel like at cleaning at ALL. I brush my teeth better… than he "cleaned them." My teeth and gums did not feel clean - that is because they were minimally cleaned. UNLIKE my excellent Dentist Dr Suniel Porecha who has excellent communication skills, is very concerned about the patient teeth, has more than excellent dentistry skills and has always been up to date with the latest technology - Dr Niemiera is slow, lazy, old fashioned, too frugal to get a dentist hygenist, or even a receptionist and as I stated above not thorough. I should have read the reviews before going to Dr Niemiera. Waste of time and money because I will be going for a REAL check up and cleaning at my regular dentist. Should have went there and spent the extra money like I usually do - at least then my teeth would have been cleaned and I would have know about the condition of all of my teeth. But I was to say that he was polite and nice. And he was honest that he was not qualified to do certain types of dental works - like fixing (or crowning) certain types of broken teeth. Also I had a vibe that he was not going to be as great as my regular dentist - that is why I did not ask him to do a better cleaning, etc. He seemed set in his old fashioned (and / or lazy ) way of doing things. Example in over 40 years of ping to the dentist - I never had a dentist not used a tube for extracting mouth fluids, Instead he used tissue or gauze. VERY strange. I hope this review gives others advice or insight about if this dentist is right for you.

I am a case worker and called to make an appointment for one of my clients. First the doctor stated that he would not talk to me because he only makes appointments with the patience. I told the doctor my client may be hard to understand, but if he wanted to try to talk he could. The doctor proceeded to ask me if my client had a disability and asked several times "What is his problem". You're in a health profession you should know that it is ILLEGAL and UNETHICAL to share clients health information in that manner. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.
