Mersad Hoorfar
I was born in Iran in 1964 but moved to the U.K when I was only 10. I completed my Bachelor of Science in Microbiology at the University of London in 1987.
I then spent 3 years running the family restaurant business in the north of England, hence my passion for cooking.
I found my calling after I visited a friend in Philadelphia in 1989.
I completed my dental education at Temple University in 1995.
I open-end my first practice In Exton on Route 100 in 1997, this later became what is now Whiteland Dental at its current location.
I purchased a second practice in Pottstown in 1998, which I later moved to Limerick and since then to its new location on Ridge Pike.
I briefly owned 2 other practices but the work load became too much. I sold those in 2009
I never envisioned myself as a chain with no or little identity. I firmly believe in giving our patients a dedicated service and making every individual feel special. I have strived over the years to build a good reputation in …the community and feel that I have achieved that and although I realize that you are not going to please everyone, however you must try to do your best to do so.
The one thing I try to share with my patients is that dentistry is not going to last forever and sometimes things will go wrong, root canals will fail and crown will need to be redone. Some people are under the impression that dentistry should last a lifetime. Well that would be great but is not always the case.
I also believe that people are inherently good and I want to treat people the way I want to be treated.
One of the challenges of being a practitioner and a businessman is to balance the need to treat people with compassion and at the same time realizing that this is a business and we have a responsibility to be a viable one.
Although I enjoy all facets of dentistry, I have continued my education over the years and now focus on placing implants and helping patients regain their confidence by giving them a smile they can be proud of.
My interests outside of work are spending time with my 2 children Cameron and Emma, playing golf and I am also a ski nut. I am a huge Phillies fan and follow the Eagles a little also. I love music and travelling and my favorite TV show is bizarre foods on the travel channel.
I look forward to practicing dentistry and growing my business and helping the community in any way I can.
