Dr. Michael Bufo, DDS

Dr. Michael Bufo attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (DMD) in 1987. Dr. Bufo then began his prestigious career as a captain in the United States Air Force Dental Corps. During his tenure there, he provided restorative and preventative care to retired and active duty service members and their families in addition to performing periodontal surgery, IV sedation, and third molar removal.
Between 1990 and 2003, Dr. Bufo purchased and built up two very successful dental practices in West Newfield and Springvale, ME that offered the latest in dental technologies, including digital radiography and lasers, esthetic restorative dentistry and non-surgical periodontal therapy. In 2004, he opened Advanced Cosmetic Dentistry & TMJ in Scarborough, ME, focusing on cosmetic dentistry, TMJ, neuromuscular dentistry, and complex occlusal and restorative procedures.
Dr. Bufo averages almost 100 hours of continuing education …per year and was chosen to be a clinical instructor at the renowned Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI). He travels to the Institute five to six times each year to teach dentists from across the globe about the most advanced cosmetic dentistry procedures and therapy for TMJ disorders. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Maine Dental Association, the International Academy of Comprehensive Aesthetics, the International College of Craniomandibular Orthopedics, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
