He taught chemistry at George Washington University while pursuing his graduate studies in dentistry at Georgetown University. Upon completion at Georgetown University, Dr. DeFilippis was one of six dentists in the country chosen to do a one-year residency at the prestigious Eastman Dental Center in Rochester, New York. While at Eastman, he was in charge of research projects invo lving the use of lasers for treating tooth decay.
