Dr. Michael Anthony Mercurio

The absolute most unprofessional dentist I have ever been to. Touched one tooth that had a cavity. I pulled away and said ow. He asked me why I was so nervous and glared at my anxiety fidget in my hand. I told him I have PTSD with dentists so I am anxious, and he said very flippantly, "Well then this isn’t the right place for you" He then demanded that I pay for x-rays out of pocket because, "how can you not pay for $20 x-rays when you're a fellow health care professional?" Oh, I don’t know maybe because I have JUST started in the profession? I'm on Fidelis, clearly, I'm not RICH. Then I was told if I needed cavities done, my boyfriend would not be able to come back with me to hold my hand while it got done. That the doctor would absolutely not allow that. If I do not have my boyfriend with me, I will have a panic attack and not be able to do the cavities. I have severe PTSD with dentists and need someone who is compassionate and understanding around my anxiety. I have a friend that he… completely messed up their tooth over a simple cavity repair. She had to go to another dentist to get it fixed after he did it. Not to mention his secretary was extremely rude on the phone and muttered under her breath about things the whole time I was in the waiting room. Most unprofessional piece of garbage dentist I have ever met in my entire life. With his bedside manner I would never trust him to touch my teeth for ANYTHING. If he can’t accommodate people with mental health problems he shouldn’t have a license. I will be calling my insurance company to let them know he did not complete an exam of my mouth so that they do not accept his claim. I also will be filing with the Dentist License Agency of New York and the New York Board of Education for his unethical conduct.
