Dr. Mike Min Kang

My "insurance" plan pre-selected this dental office for me. Sometime after the initial visit I returned to this office to have a filling done over a filling that was done improperly by another dental group years ago. After arriving for my appointment and before even sitting in the dentist's chair, I was asked to pay the fee of $180.00 for the service up front. I usally refuse to deal with people who conduct business in this manner, but I decided to go ahead with the procedure since I was already there. After Dr. Kang examined my mouth to make sure that I wouldn't need an anestheic injection...since I didn't want one...I waited in the chair for about fifteen minutes while he finished up with another patient. This was fine, but then after the doctor had already started working on my mouth the receptionist came in and asked him to answer another question from the same previous patient. Dr. Kang stopped working on my mouth and spent about another 15 minutes speaking with the other… patient...soo rude! He fianlly came back in and finished my procedure. Once done he handed me a mirror to look at the results, which I did agree that he coverd the portion on the tooth that was prone to staining when eating colored foods such as blackberries, but the ugly circular indentation that was left due to the tooth being underfilled by the previous dentist was still there. That was very disappointing since the aesthetic appearance of the tooth was the main reason that I wanted it fixed in the first place. I returned to Dr. Kang about a week later and asked if he could do anything to improve upon the appearance of the tooth and he stated that the only other option would be to have the tooth boneded? or something and that would cost around $800. and that I would probaly need both front teeth done so that they would match. That option was waay out of the park for me because I have a limited income. So I began to search for another dentist and eventually ended up returning to another dental office that I had visited before I had my current "insurance" plan where I actually paid less money for all services (funny because I had zero insurance and paid everything out of pocket). At this dental office I not only got the tooth filled beautifully, but paid less money ($150). I hate that I got hooked into going to Dr.Kang's office through my insurance plan thinking that I would end up paying less for dental services when actually I paid more and got a poorer quality of service. I also hate that $180.00 of my money was just wasted for no good reason. I won't be going back to this dentist.
