Summary
In 1996, After serving for a year as an instructor in Oral Diagnosis & Medicine at Pravara Dental College, Loni, I decided to get married to Prashant Godiwala. I then started working as an associate dentist with an Oral Surgeon in Mumbai. My experience with oral surgeon widened my horizons in practicing surgery.
In Oct 1996, Prashant & I decided to move to USA. Prashant was on a work H1 and I took up the challenge once more to study dentistry in the USA which would enable me to continue my passion for dentistry and my desire to serve the community as a Dentist. Due to licensing procedures, I had to study all over again to earn my license to practice in the USA. I still remember those days vividly, when I took my first test with my 29 days old daughter (Ayesha) !
I got my DDS license in 1999. This enabled me to now practice dentistry in the USA. I worked in group practice in Mountain View CA for almost 5 years. I earned a tremendous wealth of knowledge & experience of working as a …Dentist in the USA.
In 2004, with my two children still very young, aged 7 (Ayesha) & 2 (Yash), I realized a need for a career wherein I can continue to do what I loved the most, i.e., practice dentistry & be able to be a good mother. With an incessant support from Prashant and my extended family, I ventured to start my own practice.
With the support of friends like you, I started building one smile at a time and today I am overwhelmed with the kind of appreciation that I receive from patrons such as you. Looking back at my journey of the last 20 years, I feel that I am one of the very few lucky people who had a chance to live my dream.
Looking ahead, I would like to ensure that I continue to make more an more people smile each day with my service and I am hoping that I will continue to get the same support from each one of you and my family as I have had in the past few years. Thanks again for enabling me to succeed in my endeavor.
I hope this blog has given you some insight into my journey in the field of dentistry.
